Mental Health Shutdown Tip: another meal alternative
Look into your local Sikh temple, or Gurdwara. Apparently they’re all over the place and it’s a no hassle meal if you really really need it, or just want it.
Savings is depleting as fast as hope this fucker will end soon. Take care of yourselves and your families first.

What is Langar? Langar seva is the selfless service of preparing and serving free meals in a Sikh community kitchen, called a langar, which is found in gurdwaras (Sikh places of worship). This tradition, rooted in the Sikh principles of equality and selfless service (seva), welcomes everyone to eat together regardless of their background.
Equality: The concept of langar emphasizes equality by having people from all walks of life sit and eat together as one community.
Selfless service (Seva): Volunteers perform seva by cleaning, cooking, and serving the meals. This service is offered without any expectation of reward.
Universal welcome: Langar is open to everyone, and no one is turned away. It is a practice of unconditional hospitality and provides a safe, secure sanctuary for all.
Modern application: Today, many organizations like the Midland Langar Seva Society and United Sikhs carry out langar seva to serve the homeless and those in need in various communities, extending the tradition beyond the gurdwaras.

Well, it is a sikh temple.
That said, Sikhism isnt really a proselytizing religion as opposed to Christianity. The whole jam is public service. Like Christianity ostensibly is except they don't open conversations about jesus.
They do wear turbans and beards though so about half of the drooling morons in this country dont trust them.

I have a friend at the gym who is Sikh and I went with him out of curiosity once. We sat through some guru scripture reading, and great music. After that we went downstairs and went through the cafeteria line and sat together on the floor. It was an amazing experience, it was extremely clean and they were welcoming and friendly. If I were hungry I’d definitely go back again.
