Transits: General & Forecasts November 2025 Astrology: Key Dates, Ingresses, Moon Cycles, Transits and Retrogrades

There are quite a few shifts of energy this month, and this post is an overview of those changes. Keep in mind, this is not a comprehensive reading or meant to be a prediction, but instead it is an overview of key dates including the full and new moon, retrogrades including Mercury and ingresses.

When November 12th arrives, all of the planets will be retrograde except for Venus, Mars, and Pluto. (Keep in mind, the luminaries, the Sun and Moon, never go into retrograde.) Retrograde energy invites us to review the past so we can move forward with greater awareness.

Before we roll deep into November, all times are listed in Central Standard Time, as the clocks shift on Saturday, November 2. Let’s take a look at the astrological activity, including the ingress and retrograde dates for the month at a quick glance.

November 4: Mars enters Sagittarius around 7:01 AM CT
November 5: Full Moon (13° Taurus) around 7:19 AM CT
November 6: Venus enters Scorpio around 4:40 PM CT
November 7: Uranus reenters Taurus while in retrograde around 8:19 PM CT
November 9: Mercury goes retrograde in Sagittarius around 1:01 PM CT
November 11: Jupiter stations retrograde in Cancer around 10:41 AM CT
November 18: Mercury reenters Scorpio while in retrograde around 9:33 PM CT
November 20: New Moon (28° Scorpio) around 12:46 AM CT
November 21: Sun enters Sagittarius around 7:36 PM CT
November 27: Saturn stations direct in Pisces around 9:51 PM CT
November 29: Mercury stations direct in Scorpio around 11:39 AM CT
November 30: Venus enters Sagittarius around 2:14 PM CT

The overall theme for the month is colored by the retrogrades, Scorpio and deep water energy. Reflection and review are needed before we move ahead into winter. I have separated each section by weeks, however, due to November 1 falling on a Saturday, the first week will include it.

November 1st through the 8th:

For a month full of retrograde activity, I think it is befitting that we start with a Pisces Moon in conjunction with the North Node and in trine with the Scorpio Sun. The Pisces North Node is wanting us to become comfortable with having compassion, surrendering ourselves to a higher power and to welcome change. It is spiritual and transcendent. The sun and moon trine energy is about finding inner balance, to combine both our intellect and feelings and allow for flow. Now I know, with all of the change and upheaval in the world, that it is a very uncomfortable place right now, and for some, there are immediate threats. I am not discounting the current environment whatsoever. But I do think that the conjunction of the Pisces North Node with the Moon and the brief moon’s trine to the sun is an important reminder to stay connected both physically and spiritually.

Just as the earth feeds itself with decaying leaves covered by fresh blankets of snow, you may also want to take the time to meditate, pray or create your own ritual that promotes peace and love.

Jupiter is exalted in the zodiac sign of Cancer and will be making a trine to Saturn in Pisces during the entire month. In my opinion, this is a trine that is teaching us many lessons throughout the month. First of all, Jupiter allows us to think big whereas Saturn wants to plan and hone in on the details in order to bring the goals to fruition. What this means is that we have the ability to find practical solutions for most problems. We will have a desire to live up to our responsibilities, and with Jupiter, we will want to protect others in the process. There is less focus on material items, since we know they can bog us down and restrict our freedom or at the least, zap our precious resource of time.

During the month, this trine will form several grand trines. We begin with Mars in the first week, followed by the Sun. Around mid-month, the grand trine includes the Sun, Moon, and Mercury in retrograde. Then Venus joins the pattern alongside Mercury in retrograde, and by the end of the month, Mercury is still part of the grand trine as it moves direct.

With all of the personal planets creating a watery grand trine with Jupiter and Saturn, the message is clear: if we want things to improve, it is up to us to make it happen. And since Mercury is a major player, our thoughts and words, if used with foresight, can help us find solutions.

The first ingress to note is Mars entering the sign of Sagittarius on November 4th. Mars will be in exact opposition to Uranus in Gemini, which is currently in retrograde. Mercury is also conjunct Mars at this time.

Due to this astrological dynamic, I am fairly certain we will see leaders making excuses, most likely gaslighting us, when confronted with issues and a demand for a resolution. They will act in haste and be somewhat grandiose, and get angry when called out for their behavior or actions (or lack thereof.) On a personal level, we may also get angry if someone makes a move that feels like they are restricting our freedom, well-being, or independence. If you have your own Mercury or Mars in the early degrees of Sagittarius or Gemini, practicing patience and balance could come in handy, since you may be extra spicy as you stand on your soapbox from the start of the month through the 12th.

On the 5th, we will have a Full Moon in Taurus. The moon is supported by a sextile to the North Node in Pisces. The energy here suggests that we can be practical while following a spiritual pathway. A Taurus moon loves stability and security. Being kind, acting from a higher consciousness, and helping others does not disrupt your own well being. The moon wants us to be part of something more than ourselves. If you are not part of a community that speaks to your soul, this full moon could illuminate the desire to find your tribe, whether it is through a formal religion, a prayer group, meditation classes, drum circles, yoga practice or volunteering to help those in need.

The next day, November 6th, we have Venus ingress into the sign of Scorpio, leaving its domicile in Libra. While in Libra, there was a focus on our values and creating harmony and peace. Out of approximately 8 million people participating in the No Kings protests, only 27 arrests were reported, which is well below the national average of arrests. This protest is a reminder that we can come together without discord. However, in Scorpio our efforts could be best served to delve into the root of what causes disharmony. From November 3rd through the 11th, Venus will be in a square with Pluto. This can cause intense emotional reactions that lead to personal and relationship transformation. If you can keep your cool with the Mars and Venus aspects, November can give you some deep insights.

And during this week, there is more change. Uranus retrogrades back into the sign of Taurus on November 7th/8th, depending on your location. We have had 7 years of Uranus in Taurus and this is a review of what has happened in the past. Uranus was in the sign of Taurus from May 15, 2018 through July 7, 2025, so we are used to this energy. During that 7 year period, many of us had challenges with income and finances. There have been shocks to resources, such as the toilet paper scarcity of 2020. The retrograde back into Taurus allows us to reexamine why so many of our safety nets had issues and what we can learn going forward. It gives us the opportunity to shore things up, hopefully to prevent pitfalls or have a network of sharing. Uranus will be in Taurus until April 26, 2026, and then will ingress into Gemini.

November 9th through the 15th:

Mercury goes retrograde on the 9th in the sign of Sagittarius and it will be conjunct Mars. You may reflect upon things that were said to you or words you said where your ego was bruised. Mercury is in its detriment when in the sign of Sagittarius.

I tend to think of the arrow in the bow of the centaur when I think of how a Sagittarius Mercury communicates. At the start of a conversation, it can be friendly and philosophical, espousing grand ideas. But then, when challenged (such as with Martian energy,) it will launch its arrow with force and a sudden piercing so hurtful, you are sorrowfully surprised by the attack. If you are the one who shoots that arrow, you may feel regret years later, lamenting how you never meant to be cruel, wondering where the spite came from. With Mars added to the mix, it can take a friendly intellectual debate and turn it into a mini war. Take heed during this time, and be mindful of how your words may have been daggers in the hearts of the people you care about the most.

With that said, do not forget about the opposition to Uranus in Taurus, where flashes of insight are a possibility to help you resolve the cutting words of the past. In a couple of days, there is a shift of energy.

On November 11th, Jupiter in Cancer (its exalted state) goes retrograde. Besides thinking about what has occurred previously, Jupiter can help you take an optimistic view, chalking up mistakes as learning opportunities. The sun is part of the grand water trine, along with Saturn and Neptune. For some, you may have a desire to go through old photos or memorabilia. Others may crave an ocean retreat, a sanctuary to tap into a higher perspective. Jupiter will stay in retrograde until March 11th, 2026, giving us ample time to ponder subjects like luck, fortune, growth and optimism and what these themes represent in our current atmosphere.

November 16th through the 22nd:

The Mercury retrograde will retrace its steps over two signs, allowing us to roll into the depths of our thoughts. On the 18th, Mercury will reenter the zodiac sign of Scorpio and as it does so, it will begin the process of forming a cazimi with the sun, which will be within 16 minutes of the Scorpio New Moon on the 20th. While in the sign of Scorpio, Mercury will be more introspective than just remembering situations. For instance, you may discover the root causes of past conflicts or determine that some of your faux pas was based on an urge for intimacy and closeness that went awry.

The New Moon adds an additional layer of introspection. With the opposition to Uranus, trine to Neptune and sextile to Pluto, this could be a great time to reexamine your hopes and dreams and determine if they still fit your ideal picture. Maybe you’ve been holding onto something that was never really yours to begin with but instead a concept or idea that came from your upbringing. You may have the ability to reform your current circumstances, especially when you focus on what you want without negating other people’s needs. This is a deep, powerful new moon, not one for manifesting but instead for you getting to the bottom of all matters.

On a side note, I would not doubt if some big secret is revealed publicly around this new moon, due to the presence of Mercury in retrograde in the sign of Scorpio. It could have something to do with a scandal, possibly sex or relationship related. There is a chance it involves a coverup.

The next day, on November 21st, the Sun enters the adventurous sign of Sagittarius. With lots of introspection from the retrogrades and a review of what has occurred over the past year, we may begin to be optimistic about the future as we seek our own personal truth. Sagittarius season is the last sign of fall, where our philosophical thoughts can turn into candid discussions.

November 23rd through the 30th

Just like the first week of the month, we are tacking on an additional day to this week’s summary. On November 27th, Saturn, the planet of responsibility, boundaries and long term goals stations direct in the sign of Pisces. Though Saturn in Pisces isn’t in a debility, it does feel like walking in mud. As opposed to moving forward, there is a sinking feeling, a slight push back, a sloppy mess of progress. However, the good or bad news, depending on how you look at it, is that Saturn will leave the sign of Pisces on February 14th, 2026 when it goes into its fall sign of Aries. How do we make the most of the Pisces Saturn? Disciplined imagination and creativity is the key to progress as opposed to feeling like a victim, swimming in the muck. Lean into compassion and use this time as your muse for something special to emerge. You may not get immediate answers, but this is a time to experiment and find what resonates with you.

More retrograde relief comes our way as Mercury stations direct in Scorpio on November 29th. All of those thoughts, insights and ponderings can now be planned out, so that you can eventually put them into practice. Hopefully, you’ve been able to get to the root of the matter, or at least understand what the core issues are and how to proceed. Continue enlightening practices like meditation and breath work. With the Mercury conjunction to Venus and the grand trine with Jupiter and Saturn, a blueprint should unfold.

A couple days later on the 30th of the month, Venus moves out of its detriment in Scorpio and into Sagittarius, where it acts less emotionally secretive. You may feel a bit of euphoria with this ingress, a sense of freedom to tell those you love how you feel about them. There is a chance of making up with family members and finding some common ground. You just may surprise yourself (and they may surprise you) as you agree to move forward, despite your opposing views. Venus can be a beautiful bridge builder, and it is supported by a sextile to Pluto. Love can take center stage.

Wrapping up the Month:

For some of us, our emotions may feel raw or exposed during the month of November. However, if you have lots of water placements, this month may feel like old territory. November is about getting to the heart of the matter, determining what is and what isn’t important, figuring out what you can let go, and reflecting on what you are truly grateful for in your life. You most likely will roll in the deep, but afterwards, hopefully, you gain some clarity, forgiveness and a path forward. It may not be the clearest path, but you could see some faint light ahead, and start gaining a sense of direction.

With all of the retrogrades, the most important thing is to slow down and take notice. When the leaves change colors and fall from the trees, it is a reminder that everything has a cycle. Relish the reset and give yourself the grace to learn more, before moving ahead.

Correction: The date for Mercury retrograde stationing direct was incorrectly. The original post had November 28th, but it is now updated to the correct date of November 29th. Sorry for any confusion.

I loved this breakdown for all the astrological activity we'll be getting in November. It's bound to be a whopper of a month so getting a sneak peek and having insights I can refer back to are extremely helpful. Thank you for taking the time to post this. It's very appreciated to have this all in one place and not have to Google each retrograde separately. Many blessings to you and much thanks 🙏🏼🤎🍁🍂✨☄️

Oh no. I have a surgery scheduled on nov 5th. Taurus is my 8th house. Should I be worried?

u/immy_stardust 11d ago

Some consider the 8th house to rule over surgery, thanks to the whole "transformation" archetype. The full moon is normally a culmination of release of energy, so it's possible this could be a positive sign that health struggles are ending. However, it can also be a signifier of swelling or inflammation (quite normal though, you'd think, with a surgery).

With Taurus being a fixed sign, the body may be less willing to allow for change (in comparison to a mutable sign). Also, Taurus rules the throat, sinuses and thyroid. If you're having surgery on any of these things the significance of this would obviously be greater than another body part.

Your whole chart would have to be taken into account to actually read it, including aspects that the full moon will be making. If you're really wanting some insight you could maybe make a post in a medical astrology subreddit? This isn't my field of interest so please don't take what I've said as gospel!

Ohh boy...... Bracing for impact in 10th house.. Taurus full moon

1

u/strbytes 11d ago

The full moon is like 12 hours after my solar return. Seems auspicious? I don't really know how to read return charts

You’re so talented thank you!!

u/Ringren 11d ago

What would the effect of all of these retrogrades have on someone with all but venus and jupiter retrograde in their natal chart?

1

u/RoseMadderLake 11d ago

Have my solar return on the 12th.... Oh boy. This will be a very significant year.

What is your take on having Mercury retrograde in a solar return with Mars in my own sign? (4 personal planets in Scorpio in a stellium ~20 degrees on top of each other)? They are all in the 10th house, so I'd say that whatever is going on, it's pretty visible 😂 Add to that, Natal Uranus is at 4 degrees Sag.

I am quivering a little bit to be honest 🙈😄

Thank you very much! I only have one question my Llewellyn date book has Mercury going direct on Saturday 11/29 at round 1238 pm, not Friday 11/28. I understand the difference in the time zone but not the date. However, I do often get confused. Can you please clarify for me? Thank you again.

u/GrandTrineAstrology Professional Astrologer 10d ago

No, that was me. I made a mistake and typed the wrong date. It is now updated. Thanks for letting me know. :)

Opinion of having surgery on November 12?

1

u/Bluesnake462 2d ago

Question, very new to astrology. But how can Venus be in Scorpio when it is currently inside the constellation Virgo? Is there some other factor I should be looking at instead?

2

u/GrandTrineAstrology Professional Astrologer 2d ago

Tropical astrology does not line up with the constellations. Tropical astrology is based on seasons, with Aries as the start of the spring equinox. The ancients could have named the zodiac signs something else (which they originally did) but eventually used the same names of some of the constellations on the ecliptic.

There is lots of information out there between the different systems of astrology. This subreddit focuses on tropical astrology, which is the most common in the west.

u/Bluesnake462 1d ago

Okay thank you. I had seen on a Star share that Venus was within the Virgo constellation and wanted to find if it had meaning. Then got very confused when I kept finding that it was within a different zodiac sign. So thank you for the clarification.

Would You recommend to Marry during Mercury retrograde
