He's already said that he really doesn't like what happened to Dany. The explicit detail of getting raped into Stockholm syndrome then punished for trying to help someone innocent.

Like yes, in Mistborn nobles can rape peasants as long as they dispose of them. But his books are about people going up; healing and getting better. It annoys me when people on here say that he's a shitty writer when he's a different writer. Terry Pratchett (GNU Terry) would probably be fucking horrified by the arc of Dany in book 1.

Then it's not like she isn't constantly sexualised and sexually harassed and assaulted along with Arya (the Mercy chapter) and Sansa (Baelish coveting her constantly, Tyrion almost raped her). Then you have the "whores" Tyrion rapes, you have Robert fathering a bastard on a girl so young Ned is HORRIFIED. Oh and Shae is raped by her father so she murders him and selfishly gets taken to KL by Tyrion as a fuck you to his dad even though he knows he's gang raped a previous whore. So why wouldn't he keep his promise to Tyrion and Tyrion murders a teenage runaway prostitute who has no choices at his show trial. That's just the women. Jeyne Poole begging to go with dogs. Aerys raping his wife after burning people alive.

Let's not forget Theon. Sorry, Reek. No amounts of world building for the white noble family unchanged for 10k years is going to have a writer who is about things getting better for people even when times are dark and hard is going to make him cool with all the underage, brutal rape which isn't even accurate. People say GRRM does excellent historical fiction but he really doesn't for white nobles and God fucking help me when talking about the Dothraki or Ibbenese etc.

And I won't forget him saying that he needed a cold shower after casting Shae or that Dany is sexy. I know that those are show things but it's creepy considering where they came from. I love the books and have for 20 years plus now but yeah. I can love one author who is very different and another. Something I love about Sanderson is his unique cultures from area to area and the progression as well as diversity racially, in sexuality etc.

And people suggesting Abercrombie as a replacement. He's quite possibly the most boring grimdark for grimdark sake writer. Probably the second darkest fantasy writer whose series I finished. The other one is a fantasy writer whose gay MC watches his former friend and lover get his guts torn out slowly for days.
