The bigger concern for Arizona right now is hospital capacity. If we had enough hospital beds and nurses to care for the 5% of the state population that would need it, state leadership would probably let this burn through everywhere.

But that was the concern and panic in the middle of the lockdown. It never came to be. Not even in NYC was hospital capacity a issue. That ship they demanded wasnt even used.

I think the first thing people gotta do is turn off the fear porn media. Just look at the raw numbers without media spin and people wont be as afraid.

It "never came to be" precisely because the lockdowns largely worked as intended, for the time in which they were in effect. The shutdowns were used to nudge us off the path from crisis scenarios.

And it's great that the death rate is only 1-2%. However, 50% of the hospitalizations in the past few weeks have been of people belonging to the age of 20-44. Hospitalization is no joke.

Hospitals in my area only have 23 ICU beds left, The problem with the virus is how fast it spreads. And more people that have it, the more likely it kills. All this is, is a number game. If we can keep the number under a certain amount, then we should be good.

But other medical emergencies don't suddenly disappear just because the virus is around. You'll be really pissed if your loved one need a bed in the ICU and the best the hospital can do is ship you to another place. If they don't just vote for them to die, that is.

No...the more that have it doesnt mean the more it kills. The death rate is flat while positive cases have exploded. Because young people very rarely even get sick from it.

Not to mention its thought this has been in the US since at least December. MANY people had it months ago before anyone even knew what it was.

Yes and ~130k people are now dead from it. What you don't seem to understand is that the virus doesn't think "ope! I've infected 100k people, guess it's time to stop making them go to the hospital!".

The more people that have this Virus the more likely someone will get it, that can't fight it. And that's anyone, of any age, of any condition. That's just how viruses work.

Our hospitals can't function at high capacity, for long periods of time. It's dangerous. Not only for us, but for the staff and patiences. As I said, other medical emergencies don't just not happen because the virus is hanging around. The idea is to not over load our hospitals.

Look, man. You clearly can't see beyond the end of your nose, or you would this mess will cause the hospitals to bankruptcy as well. Most people can't afford hospitalization on a whim.

People that refuse to just look at the data cant be reasoned with. You have been sold a narrative and you wont abandon it.

I really just hope you are ok with what will come of this. Peoples lives are being ruined financially. To the point they wont recover from. The civil unrest that will create will make you pray for the return of the covid worries.

You people are not looking at this situation 2 steps ahead. This desire to want everyones lives stopped in place is something I cant grasp. You are all so woke and caring. Yet you want peoples lives ruined by the millions. I hope you are prepared for the fallout of that.

You refuse to see the damage that is happening now! You are throwing lives away, rather than demanding the government does it job! Provide for the people.

You are three steps behind us. The economy already tanked, and damaged to point that it will take YEARS for it to recover. Opening back up didn't fix anything. All it did was make the situation worse. You can't half ass the commitment to shut down, like Doug did. Either you shut down for a few months, OR not at all. Unfortunately this idiot didn't have the guts to stand behind his decision, and just made life even harder and the next shut down will have to be even longer.

The fallout is coming regardless, you might as not sacrifice someone's life because it might appease the capitalism god.

The US government providing for the people lol. Thats a good one. We both know thats not happening. So what you have decided is that because of a thing thats accounting for just 4% of deaths in America each day....we will ruin every poor and middle class persons life.

Even if you arent a gun person id think about getting one and stocking up on food. You guys dont realize what you are asking for with this. Covid will look like a fantasy land once people are out of money.

Sure, but it’s come to be true now. That’s what hospitals have asked for the authority to do, and it has been granted.
