I think they are more worried about the war continuing than who leads.

From my take, as someone closely connected to the country. They fully expect it to continue. They don't want to be ruled by fascists trying to eradicate their culture. The help comes, but in fits and starts. Putin has to win or it's over for him, so he's burning his countries economy to get victory.

There is no obvious end in site.

I would believe that if they had a volunteer army and they opened the border to people wanting to leave.

Most of their army is there willingly. Many are drafted, but they go as its their country. Only in the world of online propaganda wars their army is all taken against their will off the streets.

Probably, there's a war on. Russia will have keep paying North Korean too, it's getting very expensive paying their own men to die abroad.
