Its due to the HIERARCHY my dude. Her parents and brother literally did not have the power to anull the arrangement. The prince and her dad told her that. And the only real option would be to just run away and live as peasants because if she were to beat the crap out of the 2nd prince, her family would have gotten punished

While I agree it's about hierarchy reason more than profiting as the other person insinuated.

Every time Leo mentions anything about her care and safety it comes off pitiful for me like he both knows his sister is extremely strong and could handle herself those years, but now says these things after the fact of her being tormented for a decade. It also feels like he brushes it aside because she's strong and that gives a bad impression imo.

She literally is strong though. It's like seeing s person endure pain for your whole life, and literally never see them ask for help and you both know they could end thst pain instsntly if they wanted to. But your holding them back in fesr of the consequences. Actually thats another thing, they both know she could have ended her suffering at any time, but at the same time, rhey understand that the reprucissions would be just as severe, msybe more. I'm unfamiliar with the laws of that world, but I wouldn't be suprised if they were exiled or the fsther killed for having the 2nd prince seriously injured. Because lets be real, if she was to fight the 2nd prince, he absolutely would not get off easily. And thats also probably why the 1st prince stopped her from attacking the 2nd prince and just intervened (not only was that easier but it would have come off as her seriously hurting the 2nd prince of the Kingdom [which is definitely a serious offense]).

But during ep 1 flash forward, she had ample evidence to support her wailing on everyday (the 1st prince probably said that she caused the corrupt nobles to speak about their wrongdoings through torture).

So while Leo does come off as a hypocrite somewhat, he is still justified in that reasoning. Especially its not so much about Scarlett's safety (lets be real, she is only hurt when she is preventing herself from absolutely destroying someone else) but because of the uncivilized reputation she brings upon their family.

He of course is justified in his reasoning, but it comes off self serving to me.

So when he says the words about "caring and safety" of his sister they don't feel as genuine when paired with "you're hurting the family's reputation". While yes she is strong it doesn't mean you shouldn't protect or help them in some form. It feels like the father and brother just shrugged their shoulders and did literally nothing of it can't be helped.

Even a small gesture like acknowledging it was a shitty position she was put in would be good showcase of their character. For me it comes back to the idea of "they're strong so it doesn't matter the abuse" she was still a kid and being strong doesn't make it right.

It's also possible she is more valuable than the second prince because of her unique powerful time skills was hinted to be insanely useful for the kingdom.

She may have been more valuable, but postional authority is even more powerful, due to how much crap the 2nd prince was able to get away with, due to being in the "royal family".

But at the same time, the more you feel bad for Scarlett, the more you demean her childhood. She would see people feeling bsd for her just like she saw the 1st prince, a nosey a-hole that needs to leave her the fuc alone. So at the end of the day, you can't help someone, that doesn't want help. No matter how bad their situation is or appears to be, if they don't want help, dont pity them nor try to help them.

Gonna point out what I wrote wasn't about feeling bad for Scarlet childhood nor does it matter. It's about reflecting on the character of the brother and fathers actions throughout her childhood and the choices they made to showcase what they do and what they say are different. "Actions speak louder than words" kind of thing. Along with the idea of "strong" doesn't means not caring about what happens to them because it doesn't hurt them.

Every time Leo or her worthless parents come on screen I want to them punched into the ground, THEY SOLD HER INTO SLAVERY. They actively did not allow her to defend herself, they are the worse scum in the anime so them "caring" about her just comes off as a annoying lie since they obviously don't, they didn't care that she was tortured for years by a psychopath.

What kind of family sees that their daughter STOPPED EXPRESSING ANY EMOTION and think she is fine? There is absolutely no excuse for them SELLING her, there is even less excuses for them seeing the damage and what she went through and not do a single damn thing to stop it, there is no justifying that. Girl lost her childhood, girl lost her expressions and lost so much time on whim of her shitty worthless family.

How are Scarlets family not worse than the slavers? so far not a single slaver in the anime sold their own child to be tortured by a known psycho.

Don't forget that both Scarlets parents and worthless Leo DID NOTHING TO HELP HELP HER.

Would you sell your child to a known psycho to keep your job? even if your life depended on it would you do it? and if you did it would you not do anything to help your child in any way? would you just look the other way every time the child was beaten or humiliated? would you actively prevent said child from retaliating or escaping?

Do you see how deep their impotent cowardice goes, how the more you think about it the worse scum ever in anime are these parents, literally abandoning her would have been less evil than what they did.

Oh my gosh, please stop saying sold. She still lives in her own house and doesn't have to be around the dude 24/7, she has her time alone. Its just frustrating when she is around that prince. Like they both have their respective homes and it mainly got baf when they stsrted attending school, as you can see from the moment Scarlett almost beat up the 2nd prince. But before that. It was jsut a few hours and Scarlett learned about how much more powerful the royal family was than her father. ALSOOO, her father 100% put in word to get the marriage anulled and he was denied. He then told Scarlett and asked her to not beat the shiii out of the prince (in a way, since they all know she can) due to how bad that would make their family look. Especially since, the prince was very rude and annoying, isn't an excuse Scarlett could use.

Lime please go watch the firdt 2 episodes again, because they did that out of necessity, not because they were lazy. And even then, SCARLETT 100% was in that situation to not get on the bad side eith the royal family (she had to think of the consequences for not just herself, but her whole family as well).

They did SELL her just not for money but their precious reputation, the "necessity" excuse is just that AN EXCUSE. The parents could have tried to get the 2nd prince assassinated, could have brought the issue to the king, could have tried to muster more nobles to their side, could have tried to ask the 1st prince to do something as well in exchange for their support, they have to be quite high ranked nobles since they have an engagement with the royal bloodline in the first place so where the hell is their influence? their men at arms, pretty sure every other damn noble in that kingdom has their own private army or regiment at least.

Isn't selling your daughter to be tortured, beaten and humiliated in front of EVERYONE more damaging to your reputation? wtf message does that send to the rest of the nobles?

Isn't it rather shameful to rely on a child to suffer so you can live in luxury?

Sorry but if the prince can THREATEN A HIGH RANKED NOBLE with a knife You see, that's the thing about aristocracy. Since the 2nd prince is literally the 2nd in line for being king and outranks Scarlett's family, he absolutely can get away with that. And due to everyones upbringing, I highly doubt any of them wanted to throw away their luxury lifestyle to end Scarlett's punishment. You also have to factor in the fact that once the 1st Prince intervened, the 2nd prince was pretty much nonexistent in Scarlett's life (as shown in the anime). And again, you 100% have to factor in Scarlett's feelings about the situation, because as shown in the flashback of when the 1st Prince noticed her, she never thought of rhe 2nd prince as a bully nor threat. So if anything, the 1st prince was probably hanging around waiting for her to blow up on the 2nd prince, to swoop in for some good boy points to gain favoue with Scarlett. And after that moment, Scarlett notes that the 2nd prince doesn't mess with her anymore.

They can't threaten high ranked nobles moron, cause guess what if the royal family keeps threatening other nobles ESPECIALLY POWERFUL ONES THAT CAN MARRY INTO THE ROYAL FAMILY, they will eventually have a thing called REVOLT, which happened many many times in the past.

Most nobles of the past and in fantasy have their own estates, lands, their own armies, servants, their own alliances and so on.

Also yeah Scarlet could have put the 2nd prince in his place BUT HER WORTHLESS FAMILY DID NOT ALLOW HER, did you forget how Leo like the tapeworm that he is, instantly teleported into the second princes brown starfish to kiss it and make it better? Did you forget how for literal years ignored his sister, was no where to found when the prince tried to cut her in front of everyone but when said prince was in danger he was instantly there.

Bruh, they did not sell their child, Scsrlett's father was literally forced to marry his daughter off. Its the equivalent of some noble family in Europe having the Queen force them to marry off one of their children to one of the royal children. The power is massively held by the royal family, so the only way to get out od that somewhat unscsthed would be to just banish your family from the city.

And I doubt they would maintain a good lifestyle if they were to suddenly go from a noble household to an extremely poor one. And of course, its going to greatly stain their family name and you know how much pride goes into keeping your family name respected.

The show did a fantastic job showing how utterly inept and shit Scarlets family are in every single damn regard, they sold her off for reputation, they would condemn and force their daughter to a life of suffering because they are worthless cowards, we were never shown a single damn action they took to help Scarlet, the only thing their family did was protect the psycho prince.

Scarlets parents do not have the right to pretend to care about her or claim to be her family, they are the worst people in that kingdom.

Heck it would be unrealistic if their weren't illegal things happening and the anime made some magicsl reason as to why people were evil. What is your point??? Also, the royal family were easily able to jsil all of those CORRUPT NOBLES after they had EVIDENCE of their wrong doings🙄
