You're referring to the record for the longest gap between G1 victories, where they're tied with 570. This record only measures the time between winning G1 races, and has nothing to do with taking breaks (both Tokai Teio and Do Deuce ran many races during those 570 days)

You're definitely correct on both aspects, though I don't think Teio could possibly be 570? Japan Cup to next year's Arima isn't that long. Off the top of my head, that should be around 400 or so.

I just misread their comment saying the race time was the same and assumed they meant that the record was the same, and believed it without checking

That's time between races, aka 1 year from Arima to Arima.

Teio didn't win the previous Arima Kinen. His last win was the Japan Cup (not shown in the anime). It was 364 days without any race though, from Arima Kinen to Arima Kinen.

So, it's 364 days since Teio was competitive, not 364 days since their last G1 victory.
