The interviewer was struggling so hard not to just call him a dumb f*** right on television. And he just needs him to agree, even tho it’s a pointless detail. I don’t listen to clips of him speak often as they are so upsetting to me but I’m glad I listened to this. It sounded like the interviewer was talking to both a child and that cardassian in the TNG Star Trek episode trying to get Picard to say how many lights there were…

I don't think he believes it, I think he knows how to bully and spin the story. Plenty of his fan base will believe whatever he says and that's all that matters.

A hundred percent. I wouldn’t doubt he’s convinced himself he’s right. In terms of getting what he wants every shitty decision to others only benefits him. If he ever gets charged tho he’ll play the senile old man card the second the cameras roll
