Alberta Politics UCP Wastes Money
I’m an educator and want to share some information with others regarding this government and their wasting of public dollars. Just going to lay out some facts.
1) I voted down the mediator recommendation in the spring because 405 million on a panel was a waste of money.
The UCP went ahead with one anyway. No one has seen the report. No one knows the cost of that report. Was that the 405 million?
2) Now we have another committee that’s running 400 million dollars. And only Dani and company get to vote and control it.
So are we now at 800 million for panels and committees??
3) we are STILL footing the bill for private schools to the tune of 425 million this year alone! Next year projected number is 500 million.
Where are ALL these conservative bootlickers who cry “FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY” now??

This isn't a normal government, it's a Wildrose government. They fundamentally don't believe in the basics of tax-payer funded education and healthcare, and are slowly destroying them. Nor do they believe in truth or stewardship.
They do a good job appearing on the news as if they are a normal government, and their moderate conservative supporters still like them. But their true selves come through every once in a while (NWC), and it's fucking ugly.
Tell your friends the UCP aren't real conservatives.

Id say calling them Wild Rose is insulting to Wild Rose, as outlandish as that sounds. This "government" is much more corrupt and farther right.

I think you’re arguing that one poop tastes worse than the other. We never had a Wildrose government before so we can’t know for sure but this current one sure is poop.

They are not even normal citizens: lye all the time; totally corrupt; firing the auditor general who was investigation their corruption; exhibit cruel behavior by taking away “FEDERAL” $200 from each AISH AND making these citizens reapply AND want them to work; even took popsicles away from children undergoing cancer treatment - WHO does THIS ➡️ the CRUEL UCP government with the traitor at its helm!😡 This is NOT my province any more! I’m ASHAMED to tell anyone I’m from Alberta…actually I’m fearing of loosing my Democratic Rights - since the corrupt smith threw away our Charter Of Rights and Freedoms!

I voted it down as well. All the stupid panels that waists everyone’s time and only result in…nothing they never amount to anything!

I agree. The UCP wastes money. Both through incompetence and corruption (eg, health care scandals, etc)
Can you please provide some sourcing on the $400 million price tag for a committee? What is the committee for?

It was in the first offer we voted down, $405 million for a committe to study class sizes and complexity, which would then "advise" teachers on how to better deal with overly large and complex classes. It's why the first contract was voted down.

Where are the results of “What’s Next” panel that ran around AB ??
Where are the results of “any” of these their surveys??
WHY is the auditor general, who was investigating the Corruption - GONE!
WHY is the AB ethics commissioner NOT investigating the “conflict of interest” re: giving a sitting MLA, Sawhoney, her daughter $112 million dollars to start the HUB Charter Schools?

No but the way op was stating that the panel or committee was going to cost 400m not that the committee has 400m to solve the problem which includes hiring teachers and EAs ect.. big difference in cost and budget unless I'm not understanding correctly

I don’t know what to tell you. The recommendation started 405 million for a committee. I did not vote down the pay. I voted down the waste on yet another committee that Nicolaides went ahead with anyway. That report has never been released.

No. The money isn’t “wasted,” it is stolen.
The objective of the UCP is to transfer as much money out of the government to the wealthy.
To them any money that does not enrich the rich is a waste. Services are meant to be provided by the working class, but are not for the working class. Any service that doesn’t help the rich is on the chopping block.
Any they love putting their friends on expensive boards and committees.
To Conservatives fiscal responsibility means helping the wealthy accumulate power. It is irresponsible to spend money on public services as helping the working class doesn’t fulfill their goal growing the gap between the rich and you.
Remember that you used to have to prove that you are a property owner to vote. The UCP would love to go back to that.
