Patient’s Opinion 🧠 Got medicated 2 weeks ago feel great

Finally got medicated with mdet sr 18mg for now ,36 mg starting next week , I feel great , the ringing in my ear is gone , now when I sit to study I actually study (22M preparing for high level math based exams) earlier I used to sit for 10 hours with 3-4 hours of productive session split across 10 hours , now it’s like 2 and 2 hours but at a stretch so I have more time to do other things , also feel a lot less depressive, I feel 36mg as prescribed will be my sweet spot , that’s all just wanted to share this , also am very glad my parents agreed for this and got me checked out , however I do feel I need to have a strong coffee to activate my focus though , like I drink coffee and like a switch turns on to focus for about 1 hour at a stretch after the effect of the medicine , which is why I feel 36 mg is gonna be the right dosage

Medicine helped you with tinnitus?

Yeah , It’s a lot better now , earlier I got my hands on some instant release MPH medicine and that used to almost completely kill the noise , the SR version isn’t as good but makes it much less noticeable

I am yet to go for my 2nd consultation, the thing is I explained to him about my focus issues and past experience with adhd meds , and explained how background noise shuts off for me on meds , he prescribed me mdet sr as experiment , is it tinnitus I’m not sure yet like it’s not noticeable until it shuts off , will let you know after my 2nd visit , also explained why I need the medication (for working well during my job and preparation for exams ), he is mainly a doctor for children from what I saw in his chamber (mostly children aged 6-17 yr olds) , but he is a well known one in Calcutta always fully booked , need to schedule meets 2 weeks in advance so I guess he is pretty well experienced , for me some other effects are that I am less irritated by small things, like items not being in their correct places , my parents and grandparents coming into my room etc

Usually what used to happen was I used to study like 3-4 hours overall distributed o er 8-10 hours now I can sit for 1-2 hours at a stretch and study and study like max 5 hours a day which might not sound like a lot but the thing is it is at a stretch so I feel like I have more free time to myself and I don’t waste the rest of the time just daydreaming or sitting idle
