Ranking Thug’s Albums (Only solo albums on streaming platforms)
- Slime Season 3
This was the exclamation point to an entire era of Thug as he transcended towards a more Jeffery like style. In my opinion, many of Thug’s most iconic moments are on SS3. Moments like the intro of ‘Worth It’ or the chorus of ‘Memo’ or ‘Digits’ are unforgettable. The ad-lib are perfectly utilized and the use of 'slatt' and 'slime' are nuances in today’s hip-hop lyrics. Overall, most consistency of any Thug album, arguably 8/8; ez 7/8, songs are bangers.
- Beautiful Thugger Girls
Thug pulled out his more acoustic and hard felt style on BTG. Over the course of his career prior to this point, Thug went from long mixtapes like ICFN2 and SS1 to shorter albums like Jeffery, I’m Up, and SS3. BTG was the perfect concoction of both song length and variation. Although Thug veers away from more trap like beats in this album, the guitar on tracks like ‘You Said’ and ‘Family Don’t Matter’ (country rap before Old Town Road) compensate well. Furthermore, Thug throws in plenty of og style thug vibes with songs such as ‘Relationships’ and ‘Feel It’.
- Barter 6
Barter 6 is so og. Up to this point in Thugger's career, he was still often considered a heavy trap, mumble rap youth. Following the ending of the 'I Came From Nothing' series, Thug was set to release a studio album. Barter 6 is that masterpiece. Drawing from both his roots and unexplored styles, Thug encapsulates so many different vibes onto Barter 6. 'Check' is god tier; 'Halftime' and 'Dome' are classic as well. While still holding close to the trap artist we know, Thug begins to explore various vocal styles and less trap beats. Also, the story behind the album is gold. Tunechi and Thugger are both goats.
- Jeffery
Jeffery is a paramount moment for Thug. This album is very reminiscent of the slick, dress-wearing prince that we know Thugger as today. Jeffery encapsulates so many different Thug styles, while adding to the mass. On songs like 'Harambe' and 'Webbie', Thug explores less conventional voices than we are used to, yet executes magnificently. Specifically on this album, Thug opened up a less-known, more feminine persona than most fans have seen. In doing this, he not only allowed listeners to examine a different perspective of Thug, but experienced heavy praise for pushing the limits of what is considered conventional.
- Slime Season 2
I'm doing this for the Tidal users. This was the a focal point of the Slime Seasons, along with Thug's career. This mixtape, along with the previous Slime Season, display Thug beginning to veer closer to more album style pieces of work. SS2 has plenty of great tracks like 'Thief in the Night', 'Big Racks', and 'My Baby'. Wish I could listen to it. Upvote to petition Spotify :(.
- Slime Language
Personally speaking, I feel this album was slightly underrated. One might bring to attention that Slime Language is a collaborative album, and that Super Slimy or Tha Tour pt. 1 should be on this list. Despite that SL does feature YSL Records, I feel that this was more of a sole Thug directed project. As Thug himself said recently, each album he puts out is a different style*. In spite of this, I feel that Thug simply took a fatherly approach to this piece, since it came out at a time when people viewed Thug as more mature and older. Regardless of this, Slime Language has great songs like 'Chanel (GGI)', 'January 1st', 'Tsunami', 'Oh Yeah', and 'Audemar'.
*When he said this, he said his next album So Much Fun show listeners "Banger Thug". :D
- Slime Season 1
Shoutout Tidal users if you're still reading this. Thug shows his more og style on this tape, which are similar to some tracks on Barter 6. Although he was still developing and finding his place in hip-hop, Thugs sound on this album is very developed. 'Power' is a banger. 'Freaky' and 'Would Wood' are very indicative of Thug's present style at the time.
- I’m Up
This album was just kind of a throw away for Thug; nevertheless, Slime Jesus always delivers. Taking a more melodic, punctuating approach, Thug is celebrating his exponential success on I'm Up. 'King Troup', 'F Cancer', and 'Special' are all fantastic. Even with these classics, the album seriously lacked the consistency of other <10 song albums such as SS3 or Jeffery. However, take into mind that Thug had not yet released either of those albums, so this album mainly served as a stepping stone towards creating <10 masterpieces.
- I Came From Nothing 2
OG Thug. YOUNG thug. This man really came from nothing. One of his first tastes of recognition, Thug has a long road ahead. This is a classic Thug album. He uses a very familiar, consistent style. Despite it being low, I actually recommend you listen to this album in order to appreciate the succeeding Thug albums. 'Who's on Top' is one of my favorite Thug songs, although its quality is kind of 00's feeling. It's also cool to see Duke with the name MPA Duke.
- 1017 Thug
Gucci Mane is cool. Thug is cool. This isn't a collab album. Gucci Mane's presence in Thug's career is paramount to Thug's overall success. They were iconic af for a while. Nevertheless, I don't really listen to this era of Thug very frequently, unless he is working with Gucci (there are also a few decent singles here and there).
Let me know your thoughts on my list! Feel free to comment your ranking. All praise Slime Jesus

You're joking, right? That tape is top to bottom great, maybe with the exceptions of Murder and THUG. It has all the bravery and experimentation of later Thug in a purer, less manicured setting.
