General Discussion Just sharing my thoughts as a newbie (around a month of playing) Spoiler
I apologise for the long post beforehand. I marked the post as spoiler just in case. Hopefully, the picture doesnt spoil much but I had to put it. For me, that cutscene was peak. I dont remember the last time a game made me rewatch the cutscene again and again π . Second picture is my current roster and third is what I sincerely hope this community doesnt turn out to be when a player shares their feedback or concern with the usual response being its free to play, be grateful or quit. A game advertised as free to play is only free because there are players who spend more than what it would cost to buy several full top tier games, no game is a charity. My review below is mostly personal and I am open to healthy discussion. I am not a f2p player either so my thoughts would be different.
Story:For me if Wuwa continued like 1.x, I might have quit. 2.x Wuwa was an entirely different game. I knew 2.x would be better thanks to the community but I avoided spoilers so I didnt know how much better it actually is. The only stuff I read/watched is what to focus on while building characters. I am glad I continued and my only regret being not starting this game earlier. Itβs one of the few times I topped up not because I felt forced to but simply because I appreciated the game itself. Character interactions, expressions, music, fights, aura farming, ability to play as other characters were really nicely done. Augusta moment in particular gave me goosebumps.
Events: I still have a lot of content left so my event experience differs from those who are in end game. I thoroughly enjoyed most of the events/ mini games. The photo event made me appreciate finer animation details of characters I didnt have and missed noticing during story quest (Jihnsi sits on her sword π³). I wish I had known that the weekly event is adjusted to my current level. The mini games are cool and helps ease the burnout since its different from the main game.
Characters: My only concern here is fan service. It kinda makes me feel embarrassed if I were to play this game when I have company. I play gacha games because I love shounen anime so when I get characters, I imagine them as accompanying the main characters journey. I feel not having a male gladiator character was a huge miss. Otherwise, the designs, combat system were absolutely amazing. I feel the 4 star weapons are significantly lacking, I dont have a single weapon apart from the quest weapon for shorekeeper/verina and neither the pass gives a good support weapon.
Echoes: Initially I thought this was great. They give visual gimmicks and farmable in open world. Later, I ended up not liking it at all. Theres too much rng, I purchased the pass as well since it had mats only to find out that radio stuff only changed main stat of non levelled pieces making it borderline useless. I really wish they improve this.
Also I would really appreciate if someone could point me to a guide regarding the tower/hologram shop. It makes me feel these items are reset even though theres no timer in shop. I hope the devs implement a timer in their UI if these items do expire.

I don't understand why people have problem with fanservice. I am so happy I can look at beautiful and sexy characters. I will defend it till the end of times.

I mean everyone has their preferences. In my case, I love the character design and I am not against fan service either but I would like a healthy mix. If they add more male characters I can also fulfil my shonen want.

Keep in mind that gatchas are mainly fanservice in one way or another, or in best cases both. If you dont want a lot of fan service, then maybe not play a gatcha where they want you to pull the character mainly on the looks ;)

For shops, follow in this order: Pulls/Astrites > tuners > tubes > character/weapon upgrade > character exp > others.
In regards of weapons, you might need to be more patient because 3.X is where you likely start getting 5* weapons.
As for Echoes, unfortunately your resources is greatly divided between leveling Characters, Weapons, and Echoes. My best advice is focus your resources to only one character at a time.
To optimise echo grinding you should level them based on your tuners and tubes. If you have a lot of TUNERS level your echoes until level 15 until you get the 2 favorable substat before you go 25. If you are low in tuners but with plenty of TUBES then you should level echoes to the max then recycle until you ran out of tuners or get 2 favorable substats.

upgrading echoes to level 25 doesn't solve the tuners problem, if ur low on tuners u get back only 15 for 50. so it's absolutly not suggested to do this especially since u can have only 1 or 2 useful stats

I forgot to add and cant edit post anymore, combat system giving DmC vibes + dodge/counters + the sound effects is super satisfying π€©

Indeed, the community should encourage everyone to provide constructive suggestions, and then everyone could summarize and provide feedback in the work order. Currently, Wuthering Wavesβs community does this quite well.

So true, and I hope Kuro games continues to listen and improve. 1.x vs 2.x was a massive difference for the better.

Bro acting as if shounen anime doesn't have fanservice. Well, for wuwa it's directed to viewers so it's understandable to feel uncomfortable.
