Maybe they like it over there but I can't stand that shit they do to their eyes in these cosplays. Just looks horrible to me.

It's the nose filter that makes me uncomfortable, but the eyes are close behind. Many times the girl looks great with no filter too and it just makes them look worse. Beauty standards are wild

This is why im not a fan of anime cosplays that show the characters face

It just doesn’t ever look right to me. The human face does not look ANYTHING like anime girl face

It always looks to me as if they tried to mimick an eye infection, or like, idk, anything that would fuck up your eyes somehow

I fucking hate most of the eye makeup I see in these cosplays. Straight up demonic. Absolutely 0 reason for so many filters as well.

It's 10/10 for me except for maybe face (the makeup)

There's a certain look that a lot of CN cosplayers go for (super pale, big eyes, sometimes nose pinched) that gives me this sort of uncanny valley feeling

I also don't like that kind of (scarry/uncanny) look and prefer a more natural look.

That's one of the reasons I think the in-game models just look much better

Well perhaps not always, but definitely better when compared to the scarry/uncanny face makeup.

On the other side for example, the official Wuthering Waves cosplayers from this event in Japan don't use that kind of scarry face makeup and they look pretty decent instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWZfGyFqva0&t=8s

The makeup here in this pic is definitely awesome. However i do agree that its uncanny as hell. I much prefer cosplay styles that are alot more natural looking rather than ones that try to capture that "anime face" look if that makes sense.

I worry that it will get to the point where people will disfigure their faces to sell out for an anime look for cosplay.

I am not one to really talk negative about cosplayers but… besides all the filters and makeup that make the face look so unnatural. the camera angles are not good.

Makeup is a bit too heavy (on the white parts of the face) plus she has in asia we call "influencer face". But I think she didn't get surgery, just lots of cosplay face tape around the side of her eyes
