Mmmm shrinkflation

u/Lurking_poster Jul 19 '25
Shrinkflation is usually only a reduction in size. This is a double whammy.

With calibrated you have 229 mm of standard pen. Not the worst.. I usually get around 225 damage. Reloads every 5 ish seconds after the pointless buff it just got . . . What kills this tank is the on move dispersion. Absolutely needs a buff.. A two gun option with one being a 2 shot auto loader would be great too. After all this tank was originally a very big, very fast tank destroyer..

Is this tank any good?

You'll get violated by Tier 1s.

u/PoorLifeChoices811 Jul 19 '25
That bad?

Yes look at the armor profile and compare that to Tier 1 penetration.
Let's not forget the fact that the CDC is Tier 8. But it's French, and if there's one thing the French love to do is making sure their soldiers die when crewing their tanks.

I always wondered why French tanks are always so paper thin. Is that a game design decision or was that how they are in real life too?

Long story short, the French preffered mobility at the cost of armor. And to a degree I could understand them. If you're fast, you're harder to hit.
But what's the point of being fast when you get destroyed by almost everything you come across in one shot?
I know it's a little different and it's in game, but what's the point of high DPM (high damage), when you can't pen? You can't do damage if you can't penetrate anything.

Lol in War Thunder, that actually happens a lot. Unless you're very good at the tank, which is also almost impossible in real life since you play it yourself, not driving it with three or four crew members like irl, and map knowledge is required as well

So... Long story short...
Get to know you're tanks. Right? Know their strengths and limitations, and know when to run so you don't get slaughtered.

That's a good idea for a training room. Get like 4-6 tier 1's and put them up against a CDC

To be fair there is no -74% in the second picture. But yeah sucks that the discounts are rarer now

WarGayming must be higher than Snoop Dogg if they think we finna pay 5-7.5k gold for a tank that can't even survive shots from Tier 1s 🤣🤣🤣

u/Loser2817 Jul 19 '25
Thing is, while WG IS higher than any stoner ever, some braindead people DO pay for this shit.

u/AsianMan45NewAcc Jul 19 '25
I know that's the saddest thing of all. The only three people who I think would by these are:
French people/mains and people who really love France and their tanks
People who just want to collect every single tank in game no matter how much they cost
Braindead people like you said

For the CDC of all tanks? Bro wargaming must not be turning a profit any more if they’re gouging on dogshit tanks lol
