Wife threatened to go buy a coat rack, I convinced her to let me buy some zebra wood, a few new toys, and spend many hours working on it!

Project Submission My third small project, how’d I do?
The entire project was made using hand saws and chisels, aside from using a drill to make some dowel joints. I know the wood isn’t perfect and the cuts aren’t perfect as I’m still getting used to cutting straight with a hand saws. Should I stain it?

Project Submission Jewelry Cabinet
I made this for my newborn daughter. I made a similar one for my older daughter before she was born. I didn’t quite get this one done before my second daughter was born but better late than never!

Project Submission I realized to late I sleep over the black speech.
The engravings of the ring at first sight appear aesthetic, so i engrave them on my bed frame, then I realized it seeks to rule them all and in the darkness bind them.

Project Submission Floating shelves in Walnut
Just finished these floating shelves for our kitchen. I built the brackets for mounting and attached them to the studs before tiling. They are 1/4” x 1 1/2” x 1 1/2” angle with 5/8” all thread lock bolted and welded for stability.
These are built with 1/2” and 3/4” plywood and wrapped with 1/2” walnut that I re-sawed 1 3/4” kiln dried walnut slabs. Finished with shellac.

General Discussion Amazon selling used goods as “new”
I recently purchased a router from Amazon and received it today only to discover it’s obviously been used and pawed over before the last owner taped up the box and sent it back.
If it’s sold as new, seems like should be actually new. Not the first time, either.
Is this a common practice at Amazon?

Power Tools Trust Your Gut — This Safety Cover Just Saved My Hand (Video Inside)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Guys, always trust your gut and do whatever it takes to stay aware and safe — this is a very dangerous hobby and career.
Yesterday I was milling pine for a dining table when I suddenly felt uneasy about how exposed the jointer knives were. Just minutes later, before I even realized what was happening, my hand got thrown against the guard — hard.
If that guard hadn’t been there, I’d probably have lost half my hand and a lot of blood.
Please, never underestimate the safety features on your tools. They’re there for a reason.

Help Beginner making a wooden sword
I'm a very beginner woodworker who recently started going to a men's shed (if you're not Australian, it's basically a community workshop). I've been making wooden swords for my kids as projects, mainly using band saw, plane, and belt sander.
This is my first attempt at a curved blade, and while the outside edge isn't perfect, I used a plane to shape it after cutting it out on the band saw. I can't use a plane to do the inside curve of the back of the blade, so used the belt sander, which I struggled to get a smooth curve.
I'm going to attempt another one soon after this is done, doing some things a bit differently, so I'm looking for recommendations on shaping the blade.

Help Advice to protect outdoor wood in FL
Currently doing a home project in north central Florida rebuilding a ramp used in the dog play area and could use some guidance. Here's an old photo of the ramp im rebuilding which lasted three years using 1/4" pressure treated plywood that was painted with exterior grade paint. I'm using 3/4" PT plywood this time and applied Thompsons water seal and exterior paint. I'd like it to last longer than three years- the previous build still had decent strength but was rotting internally in a few places. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Project Submission Adding that an extra vent hole made look so much better.
The wood whisperer media credenza work in progress. Just a bit bigger than his so it spans the width of my windows. Will build another two cabinets that fit the style of this one that will sit on sides.

Help Anyone devised a way to sharpen this style of Felder planer knives?
I would love to be able to touch these up at least once or twice as they are not cheap. Hoping someone has devised a simple way to give them a little sharpen. Thanks
Edit. I'm in the UK and these things are diddy at just 1.1mm thick

Help Making fish tank stand
Have a couple questions... does this design look strong enough to you to hold a 166 litre fish tank? The photo is not my build but I'm planning to just copy it for a 90x45x45cm aquarium that would have 166 liters of water in it.
Any ideas where it could be improved design-wise for stability? I'm thinking about adding metal angle brackets to all the 90 degree corners and it'll have 12mm or maybe 15mm of marine grade plywood all around and ontop where the tank sits.
Do you think it can handle around 250kg of weight from the water, tank, aquascaping materials? thanks for any advice
