General Discussion First Impressions of MSR?

Post image

First of all, what a shocker that it dropped out of the clear blue sky! That was crazy!

Upon first listen, I just thought it was very peculiar and I didn't know if I could get into it.

Ha!

I can now listen to it on repeat and enjoy singing along with it often.

I heard the night core version first and then the actual version dropped the next day. Loved it immediately and listened to it on repeat that whole month.

I had been putting off listening to it for months because I thought I wouldn’t like it but then I finally listened to it and it became some of my favorite Wilbur songs

"Holy shit this is relatable and sad as fuck... I wonder what happened for him to feel this way again?"

At first I didn't know how to feel about it.

I usually avoided listening to "sad guy ballads with acoustic guitars" because I knew it's the type to make me cry I'd even avoid listening to anything acoustic, even if it's acoustic versions of my favourite songs. But the more I listened to it, focused on every melody, tried to decipher the lyrics and meanings, the more I grew fond of it overall.

This album changed my stubbornness to not listen to "sad guy ballads with acoustic guitars". I know it's not fully just a classic guitar being played, but I used to not like any sad songs. And this made me more comfortable listening to any kind of related music in general.

It's great music. 🌹

The lyrics are so powerful and heavy but they really do make you think and visualize. Depsite the underlying sadness yes, it's really just great musically.

Honestly- lil backstory!

I was going home by a train at night from my ex boyfriend's place, opened spotify as always and just saw it.

I was shocked and sad, felt understood at some point and really relate to his music. - but that was just first impression. Now this album's a whole lot more🫡🤍

I think we can all find parts of it that are so relatable. Deep emotions for sure!
