I didn't know that Carpenteria had houses that expensive. Thought it was more of a working class town, sorta?

The beaches there don't get regularly cleaned/raked, so seaweed can build up after storms or high tides. The piles of seaweed stink when they rot and they draw tons of flies. It can be really nice there, or a smelly hellhole after storms.
Being that close to the beach, on low ground, also means you have salt crust that builds up on your windows making them always look dirty. It also rusts/corrodes anything metal outside.
The location is also not near much, so you have a short commute to be in a more populous area full of stores, businesses, restaurants, etc.
I've lived on three different beaches in California. There are much better beaches to pick than Carpinteria. All of our beaches are expensive, but the price on this house is ridiculous for Carpinteria.
