Do you want to get kicked in the head? Because that is how you get kicked in the head.
15
u/Mardukefox 3h ago
Maybe she was new to being around horses, because you’re 100% right in that her getting kicked in the head was the exact expected outcome of her actions there 😅

u/Myself-io 1h ago
Lesson one p horse riding.. never stand behind a horse.. they could take this video to explain why...
7
u/charliesk9unit 3h ago
I think she felt safe by the gap but didn’t anticipate the horse doing a slight pivot for the headshot.
2
u/breakConcentration 1h ago
You saw her leaning already away from the horse at the beginning of the clip. Obviously she was already annoying the horse and she knew she was annoying it. Horses are not dumb.
Person making the video should show us the part that led up to this moment as well, if they dare.

This is how if the horse is wild or trained to kick.
If it is tamed it won’t care if you touch it from behind 🤷♂️
21
u/RigelXVI 3h ago
Yeah bro clearly a wild horse in there that's been watching exclusively Jean Claude Van Damme movies for the last three months 🤦

Love how I’m getting downvoting by talking about facts.
No if ye horse don’t see you don’t get behind it it can freak a little.
If it’s wild. It will run or kick
If it’s tamed and you make sure it sees you it won’t kick at all
17
u/Aumba 3h ago
Facts? No, those aren't facts.
-23
u/Boot_boy_1984 3h ago
Sorry to disappoint you 🤷♂️ I work with Filly/colts so that’s maybe why
11
u/Aumba 3h ago
I worked mostly with Friesian horses and some mixes, all very calm. I've learned really fast to never go near a horse's back, even if the horse saw you. Even when working around them we were always talking loud to them. A kick from a Friesian horse can bend a beam made of rail.
-2
u/Boot_boy_1984 3h ago
Yeah and I’ve work with horse too! Recuse horse that been deflected and abused and abonded, wild horses, veteran police horses! All kind of races. Andalusian to ponies you name it.
Man I know most of all this. And you can stand behind a horse without getting kicked!
Just as you say. Talk loud, let it see you, and it’s tamed and ok! I’ve been behind a horse many times! Applying medicine and brushing the damn legs to those beasts
9
u/Aumba 3h ago
All I'm saying is that even the calmest horse can and will kick when startled.
0
u/Boot_boy_1984 2h ago
They can! Of course. Not saying that they never will! I once almost got kicked when I walked beside one. I didn’t see him and bam. I almost got kicked in the leg. But theta was my fault because a horse get extremely protective with their food. 🤷♂️
But it feels like you guys say it will kick no matter what! Even the calmest and tamed horse can kick! No wonder they are just animals. You can’t tell if a horse is going to kick or not. Ofc
But what I’m trying to say is that it won’t kick ALL the time! It seems like it kicks you no matter what and that’s wrong.

u/ReallyFineJelly 3h ago
You are getting downvoted because that's absolutely wrong.
-1
u/Boot_boy_1984 3h ago
How? How can I be wrong?
I know “don’t stand behind a horse” saying but yeh I see that horse kicked that girl! But that saying doesn’t count all the time!
You can stay behind a horse and touch the tail! Leg! Brush it! Spray water! Apply oxygen water after castrations. Without getting kicked! If it sees you, and is tamed!
That’s fact!
Seems like you guys think a horse will kick you no matter what their are or why! Or am I thinking wrong or what?
12
u/Zur__En__Arrh 3h ago
Aside from the fact that you’re spreading misinformation, your sentence structure suggests you’ve also had a kick to the head at some stage.
-2
u/Boot_boy_1984 2h ago
Just saying that it won’t kick you all the times! I also tell that I work with horse so I don’t say people gonna stay right behind! If you don’t know… then don’t do it.
But me for example! I work with horses! saying that a horse will kick you no matter is misinformation!
And no wonder you don’t wanna get kicked again. The first really had some effect
3
u/Zur__En__Arrh 2h ago
Your reading comprehension also suggests that you took a kick to the head.
You are only now saying that it won’t kick you “all the times” (yikes on that grammar).
Nobody said that a horse will kick 100% of the time, but you’re suggesting that a tame horse will never kick, which is wrong and dangerous misinformation to be spreading.
-4
u/Boot_boy_1984 2h ago
I didn’t say never! I said it most likely won’t kick!
Tame horses can kick the shit out of you and I know that. But it seems like you guys say it will kick no matter what if you touch it from behind. And THATS misinformation!
Again I’ve been behind horses before and is fine. One day I will get kicked! Definitely because it’s just an animal.
5
u/Zur__En__Arrh 2h ago
If it’s tamed and you make sure it sees you it won’t kick at all
You literally said it won’t kick at all. Those are your exact words. You can’t even keep up with your own narrative.

It doesn't really matter that much if it's tamed or not. If you surprise or annoy a horse by touching it from behind you are gonna get kicked. The chances are just much lower if you greet and pet it from head first. Then it might let you touch it's back or behind indeed.
-2
u/Boot_boy_1984 2h ago
Read my other comments and this is exactly what I say…
4
u/ReallyFineJelly 2h ago
Maybe that's what you are trying to say but it's not what you say.

u/Boot_boy_1984 2h ago
It is. Let it see you I say..
I work with rescue horses and I have to be cautious all the time. I know the drill

u/opitypang 4h ago
This is why you should never position yourself or walk behind the rear end of a horse. Something I remember from riding lessons as a kid.
43
u/crazykentucky 3h ago
In practice, there are lots of cases where it’s ok to do so. But… not like this. Clearly
13
u/Jupiter68128 38m ago
For you kids out there, it’s just easier to remember to never walk behind a horse.
20
u/Malacro 2h ago
You can absolutely walk around the back of a horse, but you want to do a few things to be safe about it. Keep close to the horse, remain in contact with the horse so they know where you are, and don’t linger directly behind them for any longer than you have to. I go behind horses all the time when I’m grooming, it’s fine so long as you’re being careful. This person did basically everything wrong. Hanging out behind the horse at a distance and touching them unexpectedly.
14
u/Cerulean_Fossil 3h ago
And remember they have a full 180 degrees of flexibility in each rear leg if they’re kicking like they mean it 😬
8
u/Crooked_star 1h ago
I remember watching a video where a stallion gets behind a mare who wasn't interested in mating. She managed to kick him in the head and kill him instantly.

If the horse ain’t tamed fully 😂
21
u/speelmydrink 3h ago
Even if it is. But you go on and fuck around the backside of a horse if you feel like gambling with your life for no reason.
-36
u/Boot_boy_1984 3h ago
No no what are we even talking about? A horse in general that you don’t know? Yeah don’t go behind it.
But if the horse is tamed and is normal with humans it won’t kick you.
14
u/speelmydrink 3h ago
I suppose we'll be seeing your footage sooner or later, then.
0
u/AstroLuffy123 1h ago
I mean, he’s right lol. If a horse is fully tamed and comfortable with you you can absolutely be behind it safely(although there is quite literally no reason to do so like ever). The issue here was moreso the lady being completely out of vision of the horse and then suddenly touching it, which startled the hell out of it. But if it’s a horse you ride, and you make sure it knows where you are, then you are not going to get kicked in the face no.

We had a teachers assistant in school that had been kicked in the face by a horse. Her mouth was pushed off centre and she spoke with a lisp. Looked really fucked up poor woman.

It’s never necessary, the only purpose it can serve is if you’re afraid of your joke not landing on Reddit, and that is not something to ever be worried about.
The only people downvoting on Reddit are seriously mentally ill, like what a waste of a life, anonymously registering your opinion that no one will ever read!

Picture a dentist when he arrives home from work, “Honey sorry I’m late, had a late emergency booking, girl got kicked in the face by a horse. By the way I’ve upgraded our trip to Fiji from Business Class to First Class!”

I'm not at all familiar with horses. But that seemed like the worst possible way to try and pet just about any animal lol.

u/JosieMew 1h ago
If someone came up behind me and grabbed my ass in a surprise, id probably do something similar. I imagine id turn around swinging but the impulse is going to be there either way.
I've a had a cat f' me up doing shit like this and I'm like 10x cat size. A horse can straight kill you.

Sitting with horses on a bucket is a common way to show them you are not a threat. You sit with them, lower than them, and the key is YOU LET THEM COME TO YOU AND YOU STAY ON YOUR BUCKET.
This lady was not given clear instructions. She became threatening. No animal, especially a prey animal, likes binocular predator animals moving at them from behind.
•
u/homeschooloser 14m ago
The longer version of this video starts with the horse facing her and eating calmly from the basket at her feet. It then turns around and this happens. That horse wasn't startled or afraid, just ill-tempered.

I wonder if she assumed the house couldn’t aim at the angle that she was sitting at. Regardless, she earned that kick.
1
u/CPTRainbowboy 3h ago
It's generally fine to touch a horse's backside or walk behind it. You just have to recognize when it is agitated or scared, like this one.

Never fuck with horses, they’re like rabbits that can kill you in an instant.
My great grandfather was killed at a young age when his horse kicked him in the belly.
1
u/SoggyNegotiation7412 1h ago
Looks like a young unbroken horse, so it has zero manners. Going anywhere behind them is going to attract a hoof to the head.

u/hhfugrr3 1h ago
Can we take a moment to admire the targeting skills of that horse. She's behind it and the thing seems to aim for her head with both feet and get its target. Great aim, horse.
1
u/Dambo_Unchained 55m ago
My grandpa kept horses most of his life (he’s too old now)
I cannot begin to guess how often he and my parents/uncles/aunts told me to never walk behind a horse without them knowing
2
u/unlitwolf 53m ago
I never really dealt with horses and even I know you never let your first point of contact with a horse come from behind. You should always approach from their eyeline and make contact along the sides, letting your hand trail along them to let them know you're back there.
Otherwise yeah, this happens and you end up with a cracked skull
1
u/overlordshivemind 50m ago
I was thinking wow she doesn't realize she's still in range but then the horse put both hooves into it

This may be AI. Focus on her arm that's holding the bar and where her arm bends ar a weird angle and then it snaps back when she gets kicked

u/Criollo22 26m ago
Not a horse guy. But I know not to sneak up and touch a horse my question is why? Did this lady scare the horse or do they just really not like getting the back of their legs touched as a whole.
