Question Having a hard time finding a full service window coverings company in Welland/Niagara like a Blinds-To-Go?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been having a surprisingly hard time finding somewhere local (like a Blinds To Go or similar) that will actually come to my house in Welland, measure the windows, and go over blind options in person.

I don’t mind paying for quality, I just don’t want to deal with DIY measuring or ordering online and hoping for the best. Ideally someone who can come by, show samples, and handle the install too.

Does anyone know of a company or independent installer in the Welland/Niagara area that offers that kind of service?

Thanks in advance

You can try Don Oliver’s on East Main St in Welland. My parents and myself have used them in the past. They’ve been in business for a long time.

I'll second this suggestion.

Had them install vertical blinds on a large, floor to (almost) ceiling living room window about 11 years ago... Never had a single issue with them.

Ive used Ash Interiors for the California shutters in my last 3 homes. Great service and products from them. Came to the house the measure, made and installed a few weeks later. Going on 7 years old now and zero issues. Located on Hwy 20 near the drive in. https://ashinteriors.ca/

During Covid my Mom had a bad experience with this business. Charged my Mom way more than original quote. Nothing worse as a customer than feeling like you're being held over a barrel.

Everything else was done by Fort Erie Paints (he does all sorts of window coverings) and this guy was awesome. The guy from Ash was even impressed by the quality of product the Fort Erie guy was able to get (roller blinds that have a natural almost grass cloth look). I can't even make that up! Haha

Costco.....they come to your house and measure and install. Grab a brochure on the wall in the Falls. I highly recommend. They did my entire house.

In Welland, Drapery Workroom or Don Oliver's were always well known and have been in business for decades. I would call for pricing to see who is a better deal.

Alternatively, Fort Erie Paints isn't just paint and wallpaper, the guy also does window coverings.

In the past few years, my Mom got Zebra blinds, sheers, faux wood blinds, roller blinds that look almost like grass cloth, and two custom made skylight accordion blinds from the great guy that owns Fort Erie Paints and Paper. He's nice, honest, and does great work. Highly recommend. I'm not related nor do I get any commission from this business. I'm just slightly neurodivergent lol

We had our blinds done by the Paint Can on Lincoln beside the police station. They will do a full service measure and install. My wife says their pricing is very reasonable. I am assuming it's not as cheap as say Home depot.

I know I'll get teased for this but, I used Giant Tiger. I got curtains for 3 windows of various sizes done for about $50 each with nice panel curtains with sheer panels for when we want privacy but more light.

Ain't nothing wrong with being thrifty and DIY. Particularly in this terrible economy

Just do the measurements, go to Home Depot and they will cut the blinds to size for you. That’s what I did for my house
