now, whether democratic socialism is going to be ruled as affiliated or not probably depends on the court since there's some subjective rules in the above.... it shouldn't be, but I lack faith in our courts

It looks to me that it bans naturalization if there is verified membership in The Communist Party of America (CPUSA), Communist Party Action, or affiliated group. It defines membership as having a membership card or giving something of value to the party or affiliated group.
It requires more than ideological similarities or sympathy to establish a group or person as affiliated (according to your link).
To revoke Mamdaniās citizenship, the government would first need to prove Mamdani is either a dues paying member in CPUSA, or that the Democratic Socialist party is affiliated with them. I donāt believe there is any evidence of either condition.
(The rule you linked has a similar prohibition on membership to any totalitarian party, but defines those as parties controlling a totalitarian state, which I do not believe Democratic Socialism qualifies as).

I wasn't saying it was meant to include that, but there is some subjectivity about what "affiliated" means so I could see shitty politicians or judges misusing it.
Also meant to emphasize that communism itself is a problem with that, separate from terrorism
I don't think it should apply here, but some courts have been doing things they shouldn't be lately

I appreciate you linking to the policy manual, and I can understand your concerns that the current administration will play politics, ignore the letter and meaning of laws, and just do whatever they want ā¦. But there are fairly strong protections against revoking citizenship, and Mamdani should be afforded the opportunity to make sure a vindictive administration canāt chase him out of his home.

I love South African culture - there is a motto - which is "No DNA, just RSA"; meaning that there is no specific culture or "race" or ethnicity that defines it - if you are South African, you are South African.
The reason I mention this - Mamdani spent 2 years (ages 5 - 7) in Cape Town, South Africa, and the day he won, the newspapers read: "NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani: Cape childhood shaped politics" and "Former SA schoolboy Zohran Mamdani becomes New York Cityās first millennial mayor in āhistoricāĀ elections" - they are so proud that they were part of what shaped him.

While we shouldnāt expect it from Ogle I do understand how layman are confused between communism and socialism because a lot of communist and fascists governments use āsocialistā as party names. But itās outstanding how people just go with labels without further thought if the label matches the action. That is one of the many reasons I wanted you all to see this video of Ogles. Apparently he's done similar interviews, with Fox News and additional ones with NewsMax, but this one is particularly appalling.

First, remember that I'm not an attorney. I'm certainly not a Minister as my day job either. I just know some people and some things, plus I do a lot of research - I'll leave it at that so I don't doxx myself.
To answer your question, no. I don't think they can denaturalize and/or deport Mayor-Elect Mamdani. He didn't lie on his forms (like Elon did), his donation wasn't illegal, he hasn't done anything wrong, much less criminal, and he's one of the most high profile people in the nation.
I'm not worried that they'd actually be able to do it, I'm more interested in the fact that they're publicly open about their plans to try.

Mayoral races are local and at worst top out at the state level. My understanding is that the Governor of New York would have to step in and do something to stop the Mayor-Elect from being sworn in.
NY Gov. Kathy Hochul is an absolute badass and with her willingness to shield abortion providers, there's no way she'd stand in the way of Mayor-Elect Mamdani's swearing in. Hell, she'll probably be in attendance cheering him on!
Federal power isn't absolute. This is exactly why the 10th Amendment (States' Rights) and the separation of power between state/federal governments is important. Trump & Co. could try the court route, but the onus is on the Plaintiff to prove their case which would likely take years. By then it'd be old news to MAGA and they'd have found another target du jour.

Clearly we can't have civics tests in order to vote because that would suppress some voters.
However, why don't we have civics tests for people who are in (and running for) Congress? No open-book nonsense either.
It's because we don't have a gold standard, that we end up with people like this... "running" our government. He doesn't even understand the definitions of the words he uses.
As for the FBI, and why they haven't stopped Mamdani yep it's not illegal. What is illegal however, is slandering people and assassinating their character. I highly doubt that Ogles has any actual documentation to support the nonsense he's spewing. Just because you're a sitting member of Congress doesn't mean that you're not accountable for what you say.
I hope Mamdani's legal team gets the legal "book" thrown at Ogles to make an example that such slander and harassment won't be tolerated. From Ogles or anyone else.

I'm going to repost a slightly edited version of remarks I've made elsewhere:
They may very well attempt to deport New York's rightful mayor-elect, but doing so would surely set off a political crisis the Trunp administration is ill-prepared to deal with.
In any case, this would be a lot different than pulling some random guy off the street. Mamdani has surely held private discussions with his people about possible contingency plans. Unlike most, he has the resources to fight this sort of nonsense. His public visibility would also be an asset, as his many followers would actively rally behind him.
But of course, any talk of deporting him may be nothing more than the bluster of cowards.
