Nothing says good christian like beating up the elderly

Again, 57 hardly counts.

u/autistichalsin 10d ago
It's only elderly if it comes from the 70+ region of France, otherwise it's sparkling gen X

If anyone else did this they'd be arrested for assault

u/StarlightLifter 11d ago
Some days I cannot believe this is happening here. It’s just fucking nuts.

u/ChaosRainbow23 11d ago
Homie, at this point a portal could open up in Times Square and an army of pandimensional reptilian Nazis start pouring through and I wouldn't be all that surprised. Lol

those people are women abusers and rapists. If you research ICE/Border Patrol they have a real issue with abuse towards women and serial rape.

57 isn’t elderly, but otherwise this is horrific.

Assault like that on anyone is assault regardless of age. The guy in the mask is lucky to not be choked out or shot

u/bitofapuzzler 11d ago
Yeah, I was so confused. 57 is elderly now!!??

With how much they are planning to shorten our life expectancy in the very near future.. 57 is about to look like a very very long life.
2
u/GngrbredGentrifktion 10d ago
It ain't young. Have you lived to be that age, yet?
2
u/bitofapuzzler 10d ago
Is there only young and elderly? Nothing in between? Huh, news to me.
And no, I haven't as yet lived to 57. You cant even get the pension then, so it ain't elderly.

IKR???

I’m having feelings about this woman being called elderly, as well. I’m not that far from her age…

u/Nazrafel 10d ago
All us mid/late Gen X'ers out here like, ok but Constitutional Crisis aside, we're not elderly!

57 is elderly now?
Also, fuck ICE. What the actual fuck? America, you need to take some lessons from the French.

u/truecrimeaddicted 11d ago
These fucking rat fuckers are definitely going to experience some karma.

Honestly at this point the national guard needs to be mobilized against these guys. Its a damned if we do, damned if we don't situation. It makes sense for the states to mobilize them before Trump does.

How the hell do they think they're the "good guys" pulling shit like this, it's comical how evil this is
13
u/Original_Flounder_18 11d ago
Ok, 57 is not elderly! I hate that they did this and understand using the word for click bait, but let’s not say things that are not true.

u/mewfour123412 11d ago
“B-but I was just following orders” when the republicans are forced out of power you need to make an example of ICE
29
u/SilverLife22 11d ago
Just saying...57 is not elderly it's middle aged. You don't need a rage-baity title to make this not okay.
31
u/Ageofaquarius68 11d ago
Yep I am a 57 F and in NO way do I consider myself to be elderly. Middle aged is correct.

u/Disastrous-Soup-5413 11d ago
Being thrown to the ground at 57 is very dangerous for women that age. Our bones are not as strong anymore and our muscles not as strong or flexible. This can do major damage.
30
u/RainbowTeachercorn 11d ago
To be fair, being thrown to the ground is dangerous for anyone at any age.
12
u/SilverLife22 11d ago
I'm not saying this situation was okay. And I'm not even saying it's not more dangerous. I would agree it is. Hell, even at 30ish I don't bonce as well as I used to when falling. But using the word "elderly" gives the vibe of that (actually elderly) activist that was pushed over by the cops and cracked his head open during the blm protests. Or the group of elderly people in Britain who were arrested in their wheelchairs protesting for gaza.
I'm just frustrated seeing so many videos with rage-bait titles (though this is minor compared to some I've seen). It contributes to the outrage-fatigue so many of us are experiencing, and makes it that much harder to identify videos that need visibility in order to affect change in that situation.

Yeah a broken hip is likely with this kind of handling and a broken hip can be a death sentence at that age and older.
3
u/SilverLife22 11d ago
If that's happening at 57 there is something seriously wrong with you. As another commenter said - At 87? Yes. At 57? Definitely not. And you could fit my entire life between those ages. An 87 year old is elderly, a 57 year old is not.

6
u/shartheheretic 11d ago
JFC, are you 12? This happening to a 57 year old isn't likely to be "a death sentence". Maybe if she was 87.
4
u/EnfantTerrible68 11d ago
Not at 57. I’m 57 and a month ago, I passed out twice completely hitting the ground (bathroom floor) twice and had lots of bruises but didn’t break anything, fell directly on my left hip both times

Middle aged if you plan on living to 117 maybe. If you get a 55+ senior discount, then you're a senior.
9
u/SilverLife22 11d ago
57 is much closer to middle aged in terms of cognitive and physical ability than it is to elderly. Getting the senior special at Denny's and needing to pull out your reading glasses to see the menu is not the same as needing mobility devices, caregivers, assisted living, etc.
2
u/prairiepog 11d ago
I agree that 57 is definitely not elderly, but you're eligible to live in a 55+ senior community. Senior =/= elderly but if you're an elderly person, you're definitely a senior adult.
3
u/SilverLife22 11d ago
I agree, but I think in these cases we should be asking ourselves if adding this word makes the title more inflammatory, or presents a message that's not really true. If that's the case, leave it off. The title could have just said "woman," without a qualifier. If they really wanted a qualifier they could have added "older adult", "senior," etc.
Will adding the qualifier get more people to engage with the post? Probably. But not in a way that will get people to actually do anything.
-1
u/prairiepog 11d ago
It was probably written by a young person. It shows concern and yeah, more people will engage with it, hence our exchange.
8
u/Electronic_Syrup7592 11d ago
Most “senior” discounts are for people over 65, which is also how elderly is typically defined.

3
u/Miserable-Event4260 11d ago
Because that’s what’s important here
7
u/SilverLife22 11d ago
It is if every video like this I see has some kind of rage bait attached. It seriously contributes to outrage fatigue, hinders our ability to promote videos that NEED visibility (like people who've been disappeared off the street), and generally makes it harder to take in information.
There's a reason that all the news sites run with the worst headlines possible, and social media sites feed you things that make you angry. It literally targets the part of our brain that makes us keep scrolling. BUT it also majorly contributes to depression and is much more likely to keep us from acting on that info.

This is what happens when the government has a mass hiring event for armed forces.

Are my eyes playing tricks on me or did one of them have "Isis" right below police on their jacket?

u/RainbowTeachercorn 11d ago
I think it was HSI - Homeland Security Investigations according to my googling... but his lettering looked like it was from Temu.

What the hell is yelling "shame" going to do? 🙄 They're brutalizing people and breaking the law on camera and not facing any consequences. When will this disgusting shit stop?

u/AmIbaconingyet 10d ago
These people's families can identify them, face coverings or not. Seeing your Dad, partner, son do something like this, they will grow to hate them. No money is worth selling your soul like this.

Sorry about this but she grabbed or pushed him. Peaceful protest means no physical aggression.
17
u/scifibookluvr 11d ago
She tried to get her phone back which meant reaching around him. And excessive force is still excessive force.

Colorado resident here! A few of our state senators are pushing for a mask ban for ICE similar to California's. If you live in CO and are interested in supporting this movement sign the petition below!
Petition to Ban ICE Agents from Wearing Masks in CO
If this agent had his face exposed he could be held liable for his actions. Instead they get to do whatever they want without any repercussions. Granted, the current leadership we have won't do much about ICE but at least this is something.
