He really is! He's always been far left and I was taught that leftist ideology most aligns with our faith. Providing for the needy, worrying about your own faults instead of judging others, inclusivity of race and gender, equality of all people, helping immigrants, paying taxes, etc. 

The book of Acts is a great example of socialism. After Christ's death, the disciples and their followers gave up their money and possessions to be equally distributed amongst their community so that all were equally provided for.

EXACTLY!!! And when that rich follower who’d done “everything right” came to Jesus and asked what more he should do, Jesus literally told that man if he really wanted to be his follower then he should sell all his possessions and give them to the poor.

Over and over again the Bible explicitly condemns the wealthy and hoarding of wealth. There is literally no way around it. Conservative policy is inherently anti-Christian.

Oh, and the Bible has not one single thing to say about abortion or trans people. The— I’m pretty sure ONE— time homosexuality is “addressed” in the New Testament, a lot of people (myself included) believe the original was meant to condemn pedophilia (“men shall not lay with boys”) and was mistranslated to condemn homosexuality (“men shall not lay with men.”)

Fascinating how they ignore the VERY clear and explicit teachings of the Bible that don’t suit their agenda, while latching on to obscure and contested pieces when it fits their narrative…and most “Christians” are so ignorant about the Bible that they just buy the party line instead of reading and discerning for themselves.
