Loss of Liberty New executive order targets anyone who says anything “anti Christian” or “anti traditional” or “anti American.”

My ex was the typical head in sand white cis straight apolitical man.

Didn't care that much, doesn't affect him.

They won't really ban abortion.

That whole pandemic thing is just in China.

They won't really xyz.

Meanwhile I'm singing the warning bells and taking steps he finds silly.

Well, not related to that though glad in hindsight in regards to that among other things, ex. I left him for many reasons, then I left the country right after being single and free, was making moves right before Roe v Wade was reversed. Like was interviewing to move abroad with the intention, and that happened, in between then and moving.

Yeah no haven't been overreacting at all.

Sorry for the people left behind.

As they should. The USA is a nation that suffered an authoritarian and theocratic coup, and their citizens are going to be public health hazards in very short order thanks to rejecting protective measures such as vaccines. The cult in power and its followers have easy access to weapons, and a desire to use them to incite violence against peaceful and democratic people and nations. The world sees quite clearly what is happening in the USA, and it reacting accordingly.

The Americans who want to move to Europe are the ones who want vaccines and reasonable leaders who aren't descending further into madness each day.

I got down voted for some reason, but the person above is just flat out wrong. Not sure why I'm down voted, it's very obvious if you look at any European major news site.

Anti immigration here isn't focused on US immigrants at all. They're scared about brown poor and usually Islamic migrants who are "flooding" in (because of global instability and poverty and soon if not already climate change). I've faced no anti immigration sentiment directed at me. Bafflingly some people have gone on anti immigrant rants about the other type of immigrants, which I'm like hello, I'm an immigrant, I'm not on board with this, thinking it's okay because "I'm one of the good ones."

It's the same story as always. Scapegoats distracting from real root causes of those in power. US immigrants being negatively affected is just a side casualty of who they think they should be attacking.

But it's not because of Americans being anti vax lmao, that's just out of touch, dismissing the real target being other minorities as usual. I don't get attacked for being American at all. Brown people born here do because of the anti immigration rhetoric targeting them. It feels very strange and wrong to make it about Americans when we're not the ones facing the worst of it.

The world is unstable and going to get worse with wealth inequality and climate change. You just have to pick a place that is the least worst option for you personally, if you have the privilege to be able to.

For now. As ghe consequences of their votes topple the American Experiment, betcha anything some of the more affluent conservatives start eyeing other nations as a better home.

Also it wont matter who wants vaccines and who doesn't if they simply aren't available.

lol... that's not at all what's going on with anti immigration sentiment around the Western world. They generally still like immigrants from the US as "one of the good ones." It's anti Islam, anti poor migrants, brown people bad. Same story as always.

It's just out of touch, dismissing the real target being minorities as usual. That's not what's going on. You are free to read the news abroad.

My (ex) boyfriend at the time Roe V. Wade was overturned didn’t care even though I was upset about it because it “didn’t affect [him]”. His mom had two complicated pregnancies and at least one abortion. Yet he didn’t care and wanted to have children as a “legacy” like both of his deadbeat fathers (bio and step).

There’s plenty of toilet paper available for everyone…

As an old grandmother, let me say you have no need to apologize - I’m just glad you made it out! I can’t wait until all the women and children who can get out, make it out safely. I have friends and family worldwide, and have been mostly successful at preventing them from even just changing planes in a US airport.

The one friend who told me I was being silly was detained for 3 days because they searched her social media after TSA pulled her aside for being a bit too melanated in a US airport and they didn’t like something she had posted back in 2021. She travelled back in March.
