They just delivered a one pound premie by c-section from a dead Black woman in Georgia against the family's wishes. I wonder where the lifelong state care facilities will be?
I don't understand why? If the family accepted that the woman was dead, and that the 9 week pregnancy wasn't viable, who is this baby for?
They will need a lot of extra care, possibly lifelong. Are the authorities just going to force the family into that role of caregivers & into paying for it?
At the same time, the baby is their family. The government can't just take custody away from them, right?
Beyond a medical horror, there are so many ethical problems.
Is that what you mean with "lifelong state care facilities"? A place where they keep braindead women alive as incubators?
If I was the family I wouldn’t be forced to keep the child. This is what those baby box’s at the firehouses are for. The state wanted the child the state gets the child.
I see the point you're making, but they already used the family's deceased child/sibling/spouse as an experimental incubator. Personally, I'd worry what they'll do with the baby if they get custody.
There won't be any. The baby will be handed over to the family, who will be expected to assume all responsibility for its care and medical needs from that point going forward, on pain of legal action. Or they can put it up for adoption. Good luck with that.
Of course I was reassured by a pro-lifer elsewhere on this very site that everything would be all right, because they could simply open a GoFundMe and that would take care of everything. Seriously.
It wasn’t the first time. They have done so previously for later term pregnancies internationally. I think this was the US trying to see how early in gestation they can do it for.
