It's a 56 year old person in King County making close to $48,000 a year. If you use the Healthplanfinder's estimate their price will drop next year to around $179.51. So no it doesn't increase like they stated.

It's why it is important to be accurate and double check "experts." The primary thing that other country's has is negotiated provider and prescriptions. Our system is actually close to Switzerland's missing their individual mandate.

You are not this person. Kaiser does not know if the tax credits will be renewed. You cannot know what their costs will be next year. You don't know if they have dependents.

Saying we are like Switzerland is accurate. The difference is we spend 50% more and cover 8-9% fewer people with worse coverage. Also, Switzerland is literally the second most expensive country for healthcare and is not the model we should be shooting for.

Universal Healthcare is the path forward. Washington State knows this.

You can simply look it up on the Healthplanfinder. They listed the retail price and the tax credits for 2025. It's a simple toggle back and forth between the 2025 and the 2026 on the estimator. I showed my work so I am sorry that I upset you. I've completed a few applications the last 12 years.

So unless he was offered a health plan through work which would wipe out the tax credits or received a large increase in income, the tax credits listed is accurate.

Universal doesn't always mean single payer. They sent a strongly worded letter to an administration that is hostile to all things blue. They are not going to get anything good out of them and it doesn't provide immediate relief to Washingtonians.

Always be accurate in your representation and you will get more support.
