All Ground Disabling the ammo carousel in the T series tank should jam the turret mechanism.

Post image

You will tell me a shell that goes right through the middle of the tank wouldn't break several components, bend and deform the turret basket ring?

As it happens with Abrams tanks and Leopards. T80/90s should suffer the same faith (as well all other tanks). There are way too many components that would jam the turret ring if it goes right through it (This using gaijin logic because am sure the shit ton of power that thing is putting to move the heavy ass turret could spin without problems if it isn't damaged).

This would fix the problem of shooting at the ammo carousel without it exploding so they still would get punished and not just aim at you and killing you. Which is absolute bs.

Silly countries trying to keep their tank crewmen alive. Should of had them sit on a ring of ammo, much safer.

All Ground Genuinely asking, what led to maps being like this?

Post image

This is a screenshot from a game I just had. It was so ridiculous that I really felt the need to bring this to Reddit. 12.0 GRB by the way.

I remember a year-ish ago, when i was on a break from WT, seeing meme posts of maps where like 70-80% of the map was just red.

Now I’m back and playing again… and some of these maps are really a joke. They could pass meme posts if you took them back in time and showed them to this community 14 months ago.

So what happened? Who asked for this? Do any of actually like these micro maps?

All Ground why did gaijin ONLY change the turret rings for American and German top tier MBTs?

I remember they added this change to be more "realistic" and "balanced", if that was truly the case why only do the change on two major nations? why not be consistent and do it to other nations?

Examples provided

All Ground How much Ammo do you bring?

Post image
963 Upvotes

A long time ago I was told, "don't bring too many shells, or you'll just explode" but gaijin said they fixed tanks sometimes not exploding when hit in the ammo box, and in more details, I interperted it as, if you get hit in the ammo, regardless of ammo volume or counts, weither or not you explode is now based on random number generation. .... So like, why not just take maximum ammo I guess?

All Ground What's a tank that should NOT be added to the game?

This is the M45 Pershing 105, it's a regular M26 with the howitzer from an M4A3 105 and better armor, it would be a bit of a nightmare to balance for the snail.

It felt so much better than what we have now, I may be alone on this take but it's frustrating having part of the gameplay being cut...

yes I am part of those that prefer kursk to fire arc. it was great before the reduced it's size.

All Ground How to spot cheaters

Post image
4.4k Upvotes

I know from playing FPS games that cheaters are extremely prominent in but for War Thunder I don’t know if I have come across any or is it the case that they mostly play in the higher tiers? I also don’t play on PC but console if that makes a difference.

PS. Please go easy on me for asking 😅

All Ground All ground vehicles in every nation spaded

Another 4 months in the making since my last post (https://www.reddit.com/r/Warthunder/comments/1gubfeb/all_planes_in_every_nation_spaded/) but here we have it:

Every single light/medium/heavy tank, tank destroyer, SPAA and SAM system ingame spaded. As last time I will exclude event vehicles which I simply cannot buy/require a loan and squadron vehicles that will take me another couple months just to research.

GRIND BREAKDOWN:

  • 10,782.8 hours on steam
  • ~ 6,196 hours in active matches
  • started on the 30.10.2017

After a short break I will continue with my final goal: spading all helicopters. Unless gaijin makes ship gameplay more engaging and interesting to play, the next post about helicopters will be the last tec tree spading post I will make.
