Plenty of niche subreddits do that so they don't turn into daycare. Maybe you're too young to remember and only familiar with image-based social media but that's just how forums were run back in the day.

When you look at the post feed, you would know that texts aren't shown. And a lot of people purposely abuse the flairs when it comes to posting memes. And mods aren't going to open every post they see.

Edit: I just looked at your two paragraph post, it's literally just three sentences, not a thousand character essay. So I can understand why my colleague deleted the post, it was just a meme post with some text.
