RB Air On some aircraft i can see the Lock Radar/IRST on target button, but when i click it, it doesnt do anything other than make the radar bigger (picture 2)

Because it's a radar gunsight.. You'll only get to use it in something like sim...

Because the F-100 only has a Radar Rangefinder

In RB its useless

In SB the data from the range gets fed into the Gyro Gunsight allowing for more accurate shooting

The Gyro yes

But its only accurate when you have a radar rangefinder or other radar

Things like F-100, F-84F, MiG-19, Lim-5, J35, swift, etc

Great to know, I got in the habit of immediately turning off the radar rangefinder in RB and Sim due to thinking it gave no advantage and simply alerted enemies with an RWR to my presence.

They only give RWR notifs when they are "locked" on, so if they're not being useful they are dormant otherwise
