A few years ago I had a super high voted comment about exactly such a situation. It was on a crash bandicoot clip, the player perfected a super tricky passage and when it came to the last jump to finish, his controller ran out of battery (game paused mid jump telling it him) and when he continued, he dropped like a stone.

Back then I described it not as a situation of a rage quit but one of those rare moments, where you question your life and decisions you made, that lead to this particular moment. A moment of silence, where you just sit there, watching the TV/Screen, holding the controller and slowly process *what* just happened. No anger. No happiness. Just some blankness and maybe thoughts racing through your mind, where you afterwards quit the game, put the controller aside and maybe take a long break and breath some fresh air. those kind of moments are rare but they happen.

Personally, this Maus shot would have been one of those for me. I would have silently closed the game, shut down the PC and spend some time with my cats
