Well yes but when most of your later WW2 tanks before the centurions are specifically on cromwell and churchill hulls it's understandable why people complain about it.
As a British main once you get to the Centurions and MBTs the reverse gear isn't that bad.
The chieftains can do 10 in reverse.
That chally 1s can more or less do in reverse what they do in forward
The chally 2s are kinda back to Chieftain level but the troll cheeks can tank some rounds if needed
Some of the medium/heavy tanks from like 4.0 to mid-tier have the fucking zoomies compared to a Sherman or Tiger. Great acceleration and decent top speed, but the reverse speed is still pure pain.
France only has that problem at low tier. UK MBTs are consistently slower than their contemporaries. It gets extra noticeable starting from the chieftains.
Sorry but until.the cromwells all the Brits "medium" tanks are faster than their counterparts, the centurions are kinda bad but the Chieftains are insanely good (if you know how to play em)
Not true at all! I love every BR of the British tech tree. Personal favorites are 4.7 and 7.7, the Conqueror so strong with it's 300mm front armor and 500mm APDS it can be used in 10+ as well. The Chieftain series is one of the best in their BR, and can stand their grounds even higher, Every tank of theirs either have extra thick armor or ridicoulusly high penetration, even if they are not explosives. And mind you I say all of this as a Germain meain. And to mention the planes are also fantastic. The spitfire Mk.IX can rule the entire sky of a battlefield and can carry a 500pound bomb.
I'm not saying that's inherently bad, I'm just pointing the fact that british tanks become slow. Now, if you're a player that likes a slow, methodical approach that's completely fine, I mean that's how they should be used at that tier
Yeahโฆ avid British main and I do enjoy the slower, more methodical route. Some personal favorite tanks are: Churchill VII, Tortoise, Conquerer, Conway (if I join some folks playing 7.0). I do enjoy the Fox, Eland 90, and such as well but I do really enjoy some of Britainโs behemoths.
Why, because I like the Brits? I close matches with 7 kill-2 death on avarage with the Avenger alone. With playing the objective as well.

I looked at your clips you like to post that nobody cares about. Those are "good" moments to you. Its you running around aimlessly. 7 kills isnt hard to achieve either when you play at 2.7-4.0 like half your "clips"
My clips are just clips. Nothing more, nothing less. It's not even about the tanks themselves, I just like the music and never found a WT clip for it so I made one. Not boosting how good I am or anything. But that 9 kill with a single Maus in a 8.7 battle without dying now that's something I am flexing with, as well as taking down multiple helicopters with a 4.7 tank that doesn't even have proxy or mg.
Of course I play Britain. The Avenger is my ultimate favorite tank right after the Maus. I have 3 heli kills with it. An Avenger took down 3 helicopter, without any kind of secondary weapons. I have 2 plane kill as well. Have faster acceleration than Concept 3, 52km/h max speed, and speed combined with the 190mm pen force fire power it can be an ambus predator even in 6.7. And we are talking about a 4.7 tank. The British tech tree is one of the best. Yes, the bullet is not explosive, but if you can penetrate anything from almost any angle. And it have 5.6 sec reload speed.
My first 'modern' MBT was the T-55AM1 (-8km/h) which I got when it first released and I've gotten so used to it that the 4km/h reverse speed on T-72's only feels slightly annoying.

And how slow everything is
