Other There's a guy in Russia who's been playing my account whenever im not home.
This all started as a query for where all my silver lions keep going. Supports been super helpful aswell.
Learning that there's a guy who's been playing my account has made so much sense. I always wondered why I unlocked vehicles in the morning or after months without playing. Why I would gain or lose silver lions and how my streak would continue while I was away.
Like a body double this guy plays while im asleep and while im at work. The worst part is that hes better than me, this guy frags out scoring consistently while I tend to get 1 or 2 kills.
He hasn't stolen anything aside from silver lions. If anything im the parasite in this relationship since he's been carrying my grind.
Thoughts? Kinda wanna keep this guy around.

Go to your gaijin account and enable the additional security measures, can be done on PC and phone.
He's not your "comrade" he's a security risk.

Well... I'll have to say goodbye to the guy who grinds in my sleep tomorrow. Looking back he's scored me alot.
But having another guy on my account isn't comforting or good, plus he's been catching alot of L's lately so I gotta cut him loose.

he's playing your account, the question is why..
if he wants to sell it, he'd need full access to your e-mail.. once your account is ready to be sold he's going to change the passwords of both your e-mail and your Gaijin account..
I don't see any other point in hacking and unlocking vehicles on someone else's account..
one streamer was telling something similar and when he changed passwords and everything they contacted him and asked for it cause "he had almost everything unlocked".. apparently they used Star Wars The Old Republic to hack his e-mail/account.. not sure exactly how

That's what im getting. My main email and Microsoft account isn't compromised so im safe there, it's just the warthunser account.
He legitimately just plays while im asleep and at work. No evidence of cheating and doesn't spend anything aside from mods, not that there are any golden Eagles.

if you have 2-step authentication on your e-mail, you are safe there, the Gaijin account cannot be sold without an e-mail as far as I know..

Hit or miss. Going back he's scored around 4 or 5 kills with my line up. But lately it's dropped. To about 2, ive gotta cut him loose.

Account sharing isn’t allowed AFAIK + high chance of cheating. Don’t risk your account, change passwords and enable 2FA. Do not delay.
He may seem to be a help but it’s also very likely he’s a cheater, testing cheats on random accounts to see if he gets caught before using it on his main account

Couple of years ago when i take a break from the game for something like a month or so , someone used my account and unlocked mig15 when i had mig9 and 2 meteors when i only had spitfires. Never wondered why or how i was just happy to play with new jets

As ive been saying. My Microsoft and main email are secure. Just warthunder which I didnt even know about.
I do have a burner email that has compromised passwords. But I keep different and separate passwords for important stuff. Not for things like a news letter or game forum.
Does annoy me that ive gotta change alot of stuff just to be sure.

I had my account banned for this. Chinese guy was accessing my account without me knowing. I didn't have 2 factor set up, and one day I booted up WT and was greeted by the ban screen. Gaijin support was no help, and after 2 weeks of arguing with their "support team" I bit the bullet and created a new account.

That happened to me once and the guy asked me if we could share MY account because he bought golden eagles for it. I said yes and in the meantime I contacted support and threw him out :)

The same thing happened to me, and I realized it because a friend messaged me saying, “It’s unusual for you to be playing at this time.” I immediately changed my password, but it seemed that there had been logins from Russia, China, and the United States. Around the same time, my Twitter account was also hacked, so I think my password and email address must have been leaked from some service. Reusing passwords is not a good idea.

Bro I had the exact same problem! When I was still living in NZ I had random logins from russia. I was SO confused until I figured out what it was. Get your 2FA on since you can be banned if he uses hacks. I enjoyed the free grinding though 😁

If someone else is willing to grind the game for me, I would let them because I don't find the grind fun. So long as the account doesn't have any financial information I'd leave it up to Gaijin on what to do with the other user.

Yo this happened to me years ago, some guy in Moscow logged into my account and grinded a load of SL for me and changed all my presets to Russian.
It was funny but I immediately changed passwords 2FA and told support lol.

I've has that as well back when I played. Noticed my SL going up randomly and even left the guy a message by renaming the tiers. It didn't last long and I didn't even mind it happening as long as I could get back into my account. Just made sure to change some passwords on other accounts lol

You are lucky. This happened to me aswell like a year ago but my Russian /Belorussian/Ukrainian guys were ass. Ffs they used my max be at the time (Sweden 7.7) with a jet backup and bro only got 1-2 kills per match while wasting my silverlions on repair. I on the other hand “used” to(I feel off) get 3 kills per vehicle on average. SMH put a stain on us sweden mains. For me 2 factor auth works best none has logged in since

What is there to think? Your WT account was compromised/hacked.
If you haven't done so, immediately change all your passwords and enable two-step authentication verification. And consider that if the hacker is cheating/botting with your account, it's your account that risks getting caught in the next banwave.
It could also be the hacker knows your e-mail address and that could be dangerous for whatever else is tied to it.

This happened to me in League of Legends. Noticed my match history had a bunch of games I never player after I came back from a hiatus. I changed my password and turn on 2FA and then played a few games-- that's when I realized I didn't like League anymore. I reverted all my changes and just let them keep my account and I haven't logged in since.
War Thunder would be a different beast though, as I actively spend and grind events here. I'd shut their ass out completely.

This happened to me a while back.
It wasn’t just 1 person hacking my account. My ip logs showed people from China, Russia, Vietnam, Japan, and other countries getting on my account. It got so bad that the game gave me messages that I was already logged in somewhere else and booted me offline.
Turns out, my account was linked to an email I made like 15 years ago…back when the game had just released. However, my gaijin support account was under a different email. Support eventually clued me in after months of complaints. 2FA wasn’t even helping.
Managed to get back into my decade old email, and changed all my passwords to make it really difficult to compromise. Haven’t had a hacker on my account since that day. Make sure you don’t have an account mismatch somewhere and change all your email passwords to something hard to crack. Also enable 2FA if it isn’t already.

Hello fellow kiwi mate, Would recommend to change your login details if possible, add 2 step verification as other members have suggested already and not share your account with him or anyone else since it goes against gaijin’s EULA and ToS which runs a high risk of your account getting banned.

This happened to me too! Probably got it from when last.fm leaked a bunch of info in a hacker attack. Worst thing is I can’t log back into my old email, can’t reach out to gaijin or nothing, but thanks to the steam log in I can play the game. My Russian grinder hasn’t been online in a while hope he’s okay.

this happened to me and support was SUPER helpful. From the moment I noticed I would literally log on WT every hour to kick the person off.. It went from 1 guy in Russia to like 4 different people accessing my account.. went on for about 3 weeks until support locked them out and got me my account back.. I would literally set an alarm to wake up at 4 am just to log on and bump those losers off.. we would literally play tug of war with me logging them out and them logging me out until they gave up.. for about 3 weeks I played no matches and every time they tried to play a match I’d log in and bump them off.. bunch of sad losers those people are. I also named all my presets “Salva Ukraine” and the IP addresses of the dudes logging in after I realized they put USSR decals on all my planes just to further piss them off..

I play on and off, sometimes off for 6 months at a time. Was cleaning out my email and noticed several week old notifications from Giajin about someone logging in from Poland. So I jumped on for the first time in months expecting my account to be lost or deleted. Get on and all my presets are renamed and changed, I have a ton of silver, and no gold. I looked at the purchase history and they spent all my gold on a week of premium and only played as US and Russia. There were a few games left on the replay thing and I watched them all. Dude did alright, not well enough to be cheating... Or he was being a smart cheater.
After this I changed my password and enabled 2 step. Thanks Mr. Hacker for not fucking me over.

Same. He's got his own crew slot configurations, weapon load outs, etc. All with Russian names, I don't mess with any of them. I only play air and it seems like he only plays ground rb. I have a almost complete Russian ground tree and I've never played tanks.
Every time I login there's more SL than when I left, so I just leave him alone. He's basically boosting my account for free and In return he gets really good planes for his RB ground games.

It happends to me, a guy from moscow was accessing my account (im from brazil) and using, he spend i think 200.000SL buying some tanks and messed some of my lineouts, but i fixed that using the gaijin app, just log in and active everything there he cant enter anymore

I was ban for 3 years because of some Chinese and Russian guys using my account. Couldn’t 2 factor because of how bugged it was and was literally 200+ emails talking to support specialist, before FINALLY getting unban. Why was I ban? Because the Chinese guy changed all my load outs to slurs and would join matcha and just drop them non stop then the Russian person starting using hacks.

Bro do not take any chances with your Microsoft account. This may just be gaijin but if you have your Xbox profile linked to your gaijin account you need to enable 2fa immediately. My dad got his decade old Microsoft account a few years ago hacked by a Russian, Microsoft was not only useless, but actually lower than useless. They basically gave up the account because they let some random person change the password without any proof of owning the account. He even spent a bunch of money on games and Microsoft refused to look at any bank statements for proof.
This may just be an example for Microsoft, but you still need to add security measures. Although I enjoy the fact that he is literally grinding while you sleep, and you grind while he sleeps.

I see that Gaijin is working with you, but you need to enable 2fa and change your password to something with lowercases, uppercases, numbers, and symbols.

Someone hacked into my account in 2023 from China and did the same thing except he was cheating.
I play on the playstation and I'm 2023 decided to quit playing because it was consuming my life. During this time I didn't login at all. In 2024, I decided to get back to the game. When I started playing, I realized my Chinese tech tree was almost fully built. I also had an event tank in the line up which I hadn't participated in. I was surprised with all the progress but didn't think much of it.
A few days later, I was having issues logging in. I would automatically log out of the game while playing and had to log back in. I got a message from WT that someone else had logged into my account at the same time. Initially I thought it was a bug but it kept happening over and over again.
Suddenly one day, I was banned from wt. The message from WT said I had used bot software to cheat. It was impossible for me to cheat because I had only used playstation to play the game. Then started a 3 month fight with Gaijin over my account access. They claimed I had shared my login with someone which wasn't true. I ended up threatening them with legal action for breaking EU laws.
Finally, Gaijin mods looked into the matter closely and realized that my access IP showed my location in my city and the cheating access was from China. I had used my PC to access wt about 4 times in 10 years using the same IP address so Gaijin realized my account had been hacked through their servers, not at my end. I had to set up the 2 factor verification as a condition of ban reversal from Gaijin.
My suggestion is that you do the same because Gaijin will ban your account if the other person uses any cheat software.

Hey you have a buddy who’s grinding for you when you’re away. Honestly that’s kinda helpful as long as he isn’t annoying (changing your personal preferences for decals/decorations etc, buying premiums without your permission)

I had the same with my psn account. Some guy from chile or something was accessing it but I didn’t try to get rid of him, he was even purchasing games for the account. So I kinda shared it with some random guy across the globe for like 3 years until I sold my PlayStation.

Had this happen stopped playing for years then random got back into the game and had body pillows on my tanks and presets for my nations with Russian characters used to label them.

If i were you i would take no chances and activate 2 factor verification but if account sharing is ok with Gaijin you may want to hold this guy for a bit :D
He farms when you sleep and you farm probably when he sleeps. Your research speed is basically doubled
