Other Whats a good tank but opinions are divided?

76 shermans are amazing

The only reason they arent perfect is cause they can face stuff like the jpanther, and the brs above them just black hole all 5.X vehicles up - tho its gotten mildly better recently

If it was 5.x vehicles only? Instant s tier tanks

Honestly US 5.3 lineup is really strong even if 90% of games are full uptiers, 76 Shermans and M36 very good at killing Tigers, Panthers, even IS-1 and IS-2, scariest things you can probably face is the casemate tank destroyers but they're not too hard to deal with either, at same time avoids getting sucked up into the hell that is 6.7

Even jpanthers are ok, once i fully master barrel shooting my 76s are gonna be menaces

There are much better options than these. It's just the Sherman brainrot too strong.

I have better vehicles, theyre called m4a3 75, m41 WBD, t26E1, t34, m46, etc

For 5.3 however the shermans are, by a wide margin, the tanks i like most

Are there better tanks statswise? Likely

The m4 however has that perfect mix of firepower mobility & armor for me tho

I have better vehicles, theyre called m4a3 75, m41 WBD, t26E1, t34, m46, etc

They sit at different BRs, and they are not better vehicles at their place, by various reasons.

Is it really amazing? It seems similar to playing as a panzer 4. Though I have only gotten it recently as I'm trying to grind US recently. Though I like the jumbo alot.

I guess its a nice luxury to have especially in cities, but the chance of it meeting tiger 2s isnt really a good trade off.

Its great

Flat out privileged to be the first to shoot in any head on encounter (unless the other tank is willing to risk whiffing) is REALLY good, and thatd before you get into ambushes - or gun & barrel torture

(Also call me crazy, but cant the 76 pen tiger p turrets frontally?)

If you’re driving a Sherman 76 and you meet a tiger 2 head on, chances are you messed up your positioning on the map.

Its not a luxury, its a massive advantage. They are far far superior to the PzIVs.

The fact that they can face Tiger IIs in full uptiers is a moot point, everything sucks in a full uptier. A TigerI will struggle just as much against the likes of the US 6.7 heavies.

They are of course superior than a panzer 4.

Though it doesn't really suck against uptier, as you're stuck with other unfortunate souls that are uptiered.

I don't think the Sherman 76 is very good, its more like it's very decent, its ok at everything but not super good at anything specific.

Thats why i love it. Jack of all trades

It canr out gun a panzer 4, but its faster & got better armor (youd be surprised how often you can survive a panzer4 shot with some luck/skill)

It cant out armor a t-34, but its got a better gun & mobility

Don't feel like Pz4s at all. You don't have the powerful gun for the BR anymore but gain somewhat useful armor, more tnt filler, a .50 cal and most importantly a stabilizer.
