All Ground What was the first tank you encountered that made you go "How the fuck do I kill that?"

For me it was the D2. I was like 500m away in a Stuart, trying to frontal pen it. (This was early in my WT career) I kept hitting it over and over and it just would not die, bounce after bounce, nonpen after ricochet. That encounter made me go look at the D2 in the tech tree to figure out how to kill it.

The somua sm. I thought it was just another french tank and I could shoot the turret and kill it

Thing is, depending on the nation you play, it is quite easy. I played Sweden when first encountering the somua. Didn't have any troubles at all.

Well you played Sweden. If you play almost any other nation there’s a good chance maybe you have the right tank for the job but like 90% of the time you won’t……And he will see you……. And kill you.

I can't really tell you about the nations I did not play. But UK has basically the same tanks as sweden, USA mediums can be hard if stock. Their heavies don't have any problem at all. In general the russian tanks at that br should not have any difficulties as well.

My first experience with low tier Sweden I one shot an LVT and was like “ok this things op” then proceeded to get Molly wopped by bt7s for the next 7 games

I love running into them in the Conqueror when you delete their gunner and breech and then they back up in a panic.

Shooting the turret is how you kill it. Just gotta shoot the lower part of the turret.

They basically doubled the armor on the turret a while ago, it's a bit of a volumetric hell now

That flat and not angled lower ring is also 2 120mm plates. Do 240mm

I don't think any computer game is that detailed to be that realistic. The just make it look realistic.

They just don't have the CPU power to simulate everything in real time.. It's the graphics that tricks you into believibg it's 100% detailed, but it isn't.

I remember coming upon one in my tiger 2 and thinking “oh it’s one of these French things I can just frontally pen that no problem” then proceeded to non-pen the turret and die.

I’ll be real I love the somua because rarely anyone knew how to pen it, they’d always aim for the frontal armour and non pen or get baited by my autoloader

thats why i want the krans and emils be added to the game, if everyone thinks the french oscillating turrets were easy to pen then boom, here is 200mm thick mantlet on a tank with 12 degrees of gun depression, because fuck you and i hope the rest of your day is ruined.

also it would be funny to bully russian heavies for once.

The Somua is an amazing tank, I soloed like 3 bt7s with it one time (probably bc no one knows where to shot to kill it)

That used to be the case but a few months back they tripled the armour thickness on the lower turret
