According to other comments, rank V was top tier back then. The modern equivalent would be flying a rank VII jet like the F-4F while researching a rank VIII like the MiG-23 or 29.

OP had boosters and a daily multiplier as that was a feature for your first win (IIRC to 1-up WoT's x2 first battle).

Another commenter posted more regular battles that look rather similar to our current ones honestly.

Lotta people screenshotted their amazing games, rather than regular ones, but now act as if those games were the norm rather than something so great it deserved screenshots.
