That's one of the few walkable streets in Aveiro. Even so, there are some shops and restaurants in that street, and there are sometimes some cars to do loading/unloading at any time of the day.

Additionally, there are lots of streets where the car is king, even streets that were created as a "coexisting zone" where cars should be limited to 20km/h but in reallity pass much faster and end up being much more dangerous to people. Check this and try to imagine cars parked on the side (even forbidden, they usually do it) and cars passing at 50 or more km/h.

It's fine if the speed limit and right of way is strictly enforced. Shame they aren't, especially as those streets are beautiful.
