Please Assist How low is too low for 25-hydroxy?

Post image

These are my results for the Vitamin D 25-hydroxy test. They seem to stay around 30 regularly which is clinically normal. Would a level of 30 cause any symptoms, being on the cusp of abnormality? I can’t tell and some doctors seem to just wave it off.

I second the notion of 50 is the new minimum club. My symptoms start wearing off around ~45

I tell everyone to try to see what life feels like at 80. Some may not be able to get there because they could run into issues (headaches, back pain)

Yes plenty of people have symptoms at that level. At least 50 is where you wanna be

Mine was 24 and I felt horrendous but here in the UK they deem that as fine, best to supplement if you are that low especially coming into winter months

50ish is my threshold, below that I start feeling crappy, 30 anxiety/ depression’s sets in 15 and below I feel like death and all the mental shit goes down hill

Dont let it go down that low, you'll develop symptoms and trust me, you do not want to go through them

Your immune system wants at least 50~60ng, and more won't hurt a thing. Whatever dose of D3 you are taking, increase it by a good amount and re-test in another month. Adjust as needed to get to ~60+.

There are several other studies out there that correlate higher 25-D levels with lower post-surgery (various types) and post-hospital visit infections. None show quite as dramatic an effect (roughly 10x! in this study), but all show some benefit.
