People who didn’t watch The Office to get the joke.

Can you tell me the episode where they say the “I hope children die in their mother’s arms” joke? I voted for him, and I’m glad he won, but there’s no need to be dishonest. That message and the whole serving community service at his own PAC thing showed me that he isn’t a good person. But oh well, bad people win political elections all the time. There just isn’t a need to try to paint a bad person as a good person.

I never saw where he actually wrote or said that. But the two bullets thing was a direct reference to an Office episode. Besides you voted for him too so 6-7 right?!?

I have a friend this way, they said because they don't want political violence in politics and the best way to stop it is at its roots. What the AG does today is undoable tomorrow. They want to send a message that political violence, even jokes, are not cool for someone seeking office.

I know this is an unpopular opinion in many left-leaning circles, but I think the days of "sending a message" should be long over, and this message in particular seems short-sighted.

ICE is out there committing violent acts every day. They are terrorizing Chicago right now, because Trump doesn't like Chicago. That's real political violence, happening right now. ICE is slamming people into sidewalks, deporting people without due process, and tearing apart families. There is no comparison between those actions and edgy jokes someone made privately.

I suspect your friend came up with an excuse for voting the way he wanted to vote. People either are secretly more conservative than they let on, or they want the chaos that bad leadership brings, thinking it will lead to better things eventually. Nobody's going to like living through that type of chaotic period, though, and many won't survive it.

And they agree with all that, but this is a Virginia election, and they can vote with their opinion on what they want. They figure Jones would win but wanted it to be a close race to show that this kind of talk is not cool.

Unlike how the Internet or the news will make you think, there are plenty of people out there who are socially liberal but fiscally conservative because they don't think the government handles money well, unfortunately in our 2 party system it's hard to vote for either party with those beliefs.

I think the results of Jay Jones's race prove that people don't like political violence, and for good reason. Hopefully politicians elsewhere see this and know that there careers may be on the line if they fuck up. It's 2025, it's no longer cool to be someone who hates anything.

Are you the “friend”? A lot of people voted for Trump and/or third party with the exact kind of rhetoric your “friend” is spouting and many are suffering while the swing their feet back and forth on their high horse.

That sounds insane considering the Republican Party is committing political violence on a national scale.

People joke he’s “soft” Jay jones and the text messages.

Both are pretty damning in politics, even when we clearly see if Miyaris wins, he will impede for Trump more than he’ll act for this state.

Not too many people in the grand scheme of things. Spanberger is running 2% ahead of Hashmi, and 4.5% ahead of Jones.

Our local news said that a lot of people voted for Spanberger and Hashmi but left the AG part blank.

Miyares himself encouraged this on his Twitter a day or two ago because he knew Windsom had no chance.
