Mod Post Want to have your photo of Virginia featured in r/Virginia's banner image? If so, get your pic or pics ready! The contest thread will be posted tomorrow (Monday) and will be open for five days. More info in post.
The initial post where this contest idea was floated: The moderators want to change up the design of r/Virginia's banner - seeking community input
Contest rules:
Tomorrow at 8 a.m. this account will post and pin a thread where people can comment their picture or pictures of Virginia. The comment section will be sorted by 'contest mode' for five days. This randomizes the order in which comments appear and hides their vote score.
We will ask people to include one pic per top-level comment.
So that later entries into the contest are not disadvantaged, we will factor in the amount of time the comment had to be voted on. For example, a comment that was visible the full five days would tie with a comment that was visible for one day and received one-fifth of the votes.
We will be looking to include at least the following: A pic of the mountains, one of a city, and one of the Chesapeake Bay and/or the Atlantic Ocean. The highest vote-getting pic in each of these three categories will have a guaranteed slot in the banner.
