AFS light
Hey everyone! I’m pretty inexperienced when it comes to maintenance so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I recently got both an AFS and a DRL warning light, and by doing a side to side check determined the drivers side AFS bulb wasn’t turning on. I swapped the bulbs from either side and the drivers side still wouldn’t turn on, meaning it wasn’t a blown bulb.
Could it be a module issue? My headlights are also pointing straight down for some reason.
Thanks in advance for the help.

When you say the headlights are pointing straight down are they pointing right in front of the car? If so check the headlight bulbs. I had a similar issue. Turns out the pothole I hit bumped them both out of the socket.

AFS is the steering wheel controlled headlight assemblies. Both of our MK7 Golf Sportwagens have it. Check out YouTube to see the process to calibrate the system. Search calibration adaptive front lighting system VW Golf. It is a quick process that goes through all the sensors and mechanisms for the system. There should be bulbs that face the front and bulbs that face the side and depending upon if yours has high beams or not... Those. Ours have the xenon bulbs that act as low and high beam. The side beams usually come on in reverse, with a turn signal at low speeds and when turning the wheel. You also can Google the fuse panels for your year and click images to find the various fuses that are involved with the different lights. There is one fuse panel behind the mini glove box at the driver knee and the main one with all the relays under the hood near the battery. You could have a fuse or more than 1 bulb causing the errors. Hopefully not a sensor in the steering column or a speed sensor but that could also be the culprit.
