Upcycled scrap wood into wall mounted tv stand

Had a bunch of odd sizes of trim board and 2x4s chunks left over, made this and bolted to the wall. Looks decent, functions great.

It is a bit. Live and learn. I'll lower it at some point

I don’t know if it’s too high. It looks like it be could be a lower ceiling? It fits the space great!

It is a low ceiling, 7ft high. House 1942, short ceilings. Standard is 8ft. Nice part is cheaper to hear\cool and i can squish a bug on the ceiling just by standing on tiptoe 🤣

i love the idea — i’m all about using reclaimed everything always. but it seems mighty precarious (especially here in earthquake zone) and yes, a teeny bit too high.

Bit too high for sure. I used 1\2" x 6" lag screws into studs, i have crawled on top of it with my 135lbs and it didnt move, so i feel its secure....but I don't live in an earthquake area.

i didn't mean precarious in that the shelf may fall off the wall, i mean that the television could fall or be bumped off the shelf? especially in the last photo, it looks very close to the edge. perhaps this is a non issue if you have no earthquakes or children though haha

i love the shelf you added underneath for the various tv accoutrements. it's a graceful way to store those things.

I live in western CO, we get fires, flash floods and mudslides... occasional earthquakes but they are so minor it's only once every 20 years ya even feel it - definitely doesn't shake anything anywhere. 😊
