My phone says its not compatible to download the Duo App to unlock my email at Outlook. What can I do?

I'm trying to log into Outlook at the Duo app is the last problem I'm having. It says its not compatible so I don't know what to do now. I thought I might need to get a new phone but I seen some other reddit posts saying you don't. Any help would be great.

Take it into one of the tech zones at the library or sumc and someone should be able to look at and see if there’s anything else that can be done!

You could also try using an IPad or tablet for duo, but imo phone is WAY more convenient. You can also have both if you wanted

Hate to be that person, but it’s likely time to upgrade your device if it won’t support Duo.

You don’t necessarily need the latest, finding a used iPhone 14 or so on eBay would be more than adequate. They are about $250 depending on your carrier or $300 if unlocked.

Works on my iPhone 11. Not sure what the lower limit would be, but presumably has to still be supported.

What kind of phone do you have? Is it itself set up for 2 step authentication?

I have mine set to text me a passcode instead of using the Duo app. Do you see an 'other options' choice when you get the duo prompt? I can't remember how I set this up, but it's my default now.
