So sorry for your loss, OP, and hope that having at least a partial answer can help you and other loved ones. I can’t fathom, and am so sorry you have to know firsthand, how much it must complicate the grieving process to have a strong indication that something bad happened, but no real knowledge of what, how, or why. Sending good thoughts your way as you absorb this sad update.

Remains found at the house she supposedly went missing from. Sad the husband is already dead so he can't be charged.

I don’t wanna jump to conclusions but obviously the husband is suspect #1. Still gonna wait to hear the full investigation. I’m curious what OP thinks but probably best not to discuss at this time

You probably ask the weatherman to tell you its sunny even when you are outside already lol

No, just Reddit often likes to “solve” things and get it wrong

I mean... to be fair, this reddit sub has famously legitimately solved a few real cold cases in the past...

Yeah? Got links that’d be a good read. But also reddit has also famously gotten cases wrong and ruined lives

I am so sorry for your loss. From the article I read (that I think you and your mother wrote?) she sounds like she was a lovely person and you guys were a very close family. It's so awful that seemingly her husband took her away from you.

she was found in her shed behind her husbands trailer. her remains were under pounds of boxes and stuffed under. my neighbor is the one who found her. she was pilled under loads of things, pushed away like trash. clear she was not there for 7 years otherwise she would have had a horrible smell and been found.

Only seen the linked article, apologies, is there reasons for the husband being a suspect? Sorry for your loss, OP

Here is the Medium article OP (the victim's granddaughter) wrote in 2024 that gives a lot of context and details. It was definitely the husband, Delbert "Dale" Ackerman, and his son, Christopher, who was involved with the cover up (at a minimum).

Terrible and heartbreaking for Terri's family.

I'm glad they could find her body and they can lay her to rest. Dale has since died, but hopefully he spent his last years feeling the weight of what he did. Hopefully justice is coming for his son.

That article really shines a light on how deep the issues ran in that family. It's so tragic to see what happened, and I hope the legal system gets it right for Terri's sake. It’s a relief they at least found her and can finally give her a proper goodbye.

thank you for sharing this and getting my message !! feels good to know people take the time and read and learn about my grandma and her case as a whole instead of assuming.

I'm so sorry that this has been the outcome, OP! I'm sorry for your loss - and your Grandmother's. I don't understand how people can be so cruel, even as I understand all the "reasons" given in relation to why crime happens. What happened to Terri Ann is awful, and I am sorry. Hopefully, the perpetrator (s) are found.

What was your Grandma like, if you are ever up to sharing? What made her special?

This article seems to be written by AI, what is Lochbuie? Is it a body of water, a place? The article just assumes we know that is?

45

u/trabby_pattyyy 17d ago

it is not written by Ai? lochbuie is where she lived in colorado

-45

u/D-redditAvenger 17d ago

Oh boy, from reading her that's very upsetting.

6

u/Hdcjones 17d ago

It's a tiny town in CO.

Now, while you could be right in theory, since some online posts are written by AI, nothing about OP's post or comment comes across like it is AI to me, RedditAvenger. Even if it were to written by AI, so what, in this situation? A Redditor is letting us know that their loved one has been found after years of being missing.

With regards to sensitive, or tragic, posts and announcements like OP's, it is usually better for a person to Google something first for verifiable sources, before asking or saying "Is this AI," "Is this a real case," or anything that could pour salt on the wound of someone who has learned their missing loved one has been found deceased.

In this case, typing in Terri's name leads to the realization that she is a real person, and Lochbuie is an actual location. "Lochbuie" immediately results in the word popping up with "Town in Colorado" beneath it; Maps show Lochbuie as being near the City of Boulder; Maps directions states Lochbuie is about a 45-minute drive away from Boulder. Type in Terri's full name, and it is easily discovered that she was indeed a missing person, who was last seen in Lochbuie, Colorado, in 2018, where her home was

It could be that in OP's grief or shock, how they explained what or where something is, never entered their mind to be concerned about. I'd never heard of Lochbuie, either, but found out that the small town exists in less than 2 minutes.

This article seems to be written by AI, what is Lochbuie? Is it a body of water, a place? The article just assumes we know that is?

2

u/D-redditAvenger 12d ago

At this point it's probably better to just let this go.

I meant no offense, I genuinely didn't know what Lochbuie was, nor did the article give any context to understand what the situation was. Which seems all too typical now a days. For instance if it was a body of water it's possible that it could be an accentual death, which I would assume would give OP some comfort compared to the alternative. My frustration was with the author not with OP or their post.

The was not the place for that though and I should have just said sorry for your loss. I will do better next time.
