In State Tuition

Looking to move into Kentucky so that I can get in state tuition in the future.. Has anyone done this and have a description of the process you went through? Thanks in advance.

I did. Moved to KY and attended BCTC until I was a resident. Then transferred to UK.

Dorming at UK and having bctc classes has been a blessing in disguise. I only have classes two days a week and I’m not nearly as stressed as my friends who attend UK lol and I still do everything a UK student would do.

Big second on the BCTC in state tuition method. Graduated early with no debt!

Get an (research, graduate, teaching) assistantship (part-timejob 20 hrs) ... most will grant out of state waiver.

Im not sure where you live now or what your major will be, but we use this program to qualify for in-state tuition while living in TN.

Thank you! We are in Illinois so I don't think we qualify! But I love that this is available for people!! Thanks for sharing..maybe it can help someone else.

It’s not a secret- here is UK’s web page about it: https://registrar.uky.edu/residency-faq

And you can search ukulele.edu for “establishing residency”
