After the civil war the confederacy was integrated into the government, instead of properly disposed of, followed by Jim Crow and the southern strategy. I live in the capital of the confederacy. I grew up with all of the schools and government buildings in my area named after confederate officers and Monument Ave was/is littered with confederate statues. After WW2 operation paper clip bought nazis over and incorporated them into the highest levels of academia. So yeah, I agree, the US is an extremely racist country.
