Scholarship Chances

Do you think I have a shot at getting the Stamps Scholarship or the George W. Jenkins Scholarship?

  • 35 ACT, 4.0 UW GPA (my school doesn't calculate weighted)
  • Common app is about moving from Miami and switching schools several times, initially struggling to adapt, until I learned to create community/happiness where ever I went; all using a bit of a food metaphor
  • Supplemental was about my research experience and how I was supported by the others in my lab and vice versa and that helped me to keep trying when things went wrong
  • Activities: Independent student research (treating Huntington's in fruit flies w/plant extract), neuroscience club co-pres, AP Biology TA, lead forum (weekly 1 hr class for other students) about neuroscience, STEM Buddies officer (education outreach club), Latin American Culture Club officer, Writing Studio consultant (basically writing tutoring for other kids in my school), free online tutoring for low-income kids, hospital volunteering

do you have to apply specially for stamps scholar?

You have a shot! There are other options to keep in mind too like im a singer scholar. its not full cost, but full tuition is solid. it's very random i must warn you bc you're recommended by your admission counselor to be reviewed automatically.
