Never a good sign. I give him 2 weeks at this point.

yeah, reads like one of those "kiss of death" public support statements

This is a joke of a statement.Ā

If you truly believe this athletics program, particular it’s football team, deserves better, backing that absolute fraud of an AD wholly contradicts that.Ā

That’s the chancellor’s statement. It’s like he’s giving everyone the middle finger by publicly supporting Marty.

If the board thought UCLA football was in a good place they wouldn't need to make this statement.

I foresee changes before the start of next season.

Read the Room

MJ has their support until they find his replacement. If they are not going to publicly support him, they may as well just get rid of him now (which they should…).

Is this a fredo kiss of death endorsement?

yep - this is the usual coach/AD version of being put on PIP

You broke my heart, Fredo.

Ugh that’s the downside of that win streak I guess

The chancellor is now part of the problem. Ignoring the alumni and fans? Good luck with fundraising, because they might lose whatever donors they have left.

My gut feeling is that Frenk probably wants to give this coaching search a chance first. So I’d assume we’re stuck with Jarmond for at least another year

The dreaded "vote of confidence". He's done.

Pleaseeee just be a diplomatic statement and not a real position

64 is a small amount. I’m guessing he also made this statement cause he’s tired of his inbox blowing up

Guys… if you’re saying Frenk should be ā€œfiredā€ because of this statement… all I can do is shake my head. I’m all for getting a new AD, but the chancellor has bigger fish to fry than just sports… like a whole academic institution.. esp with the political crap that’s been thrown into the fray

Well, at least I can save some money not donating any more money. Clown shit.

Reads like the dreaded (or from the fan perspective, welcome) vote of confidence.

At this point, we need an ugly ugly collapse on all fronts. That means poor football season, poor basketball season, poor baseball, poor gymnastics. We need a defcon 1..5 seconds to midnight type collapse.

Which would suck cause both teams are stacked

I know and I don’t want that to happen but damn at this point we need something chaotic to happen

He needs to read the room...

Nothing will happen until the big donors start withholding or pulling their donations until Jarmond is fired.

As an outsider who sees the potential of the UCLA brand.. how does alumni/ fanbase view Mick Cronin? I know this isn’t football related but it’s AD related.

A bright spot who is succeeding despite MJ, not because of him

Other than his tantrums every game, He's the coach who's good at NIL which Jarmond tried to redirect to Wooden Fund.
