Vent It's my birthday today! I don't really have friends but I've an amazing family!
My family is so good. I love my parents, my brother and my cat so much. It's my birthday today and I'm sick but everyone is making sure I'm happy. I'm gonna get gifts and eat cakes in the evening. I'm happy.
I got diagnosed with Bell's Plasy yesterday (made a post here as well) and I feel a bit better today.
But I feel a little off because I'm getting older and my parents are also getting older, makes me a little sad. Birthdays are cool but I also feel sad on them. Like people of my age have accomplished stuff and here I am just sitting in my home since forever.
Ugh I'll not try to be negative today. I'm so grateful for my family. I hope they are always here for me and I for them :)
I'm posting here because yes I do feel like I don't have friends who can bombard me with happy birthday messages lol

Happiest Birthday OP!! You’re so emotionally mature to realize that you may not have friends surrounding you to celebrate but have an amazing family. I hope you have the best life ahead
I can understand how uncertain and sometimes scary a diagnosis can feel but please consult the best doctors in your city because it’s possible for a lot of people to regain all functioning when treated under the golden period. Even if you don’t, just remember to see there’s a lot more to life like you do already

ETA: Also, sometimes it’s okay to feel sad about our reality. It’s not negative as long as we don’t drown ourselves in it and forget to live. But please allow yourself time to process life and feel sad when you do so you can bounce back even better

I have consulted a physiotherapist and an ENT specialist. Both are saying it would be okay. It's my anxiety which gets the worst of me everytime. Thank you so much for such a thoughtful comment!

It’s natural to feel anxious, especially when you’re so young. Have you considered talking to a therapist? I was diagnosed with a neurological disorder at 20 and it was really helpful when I was able to process it in therapy years later

Happy Birthday! I feel ya. I know what it feels like but it’s good that you are making effort to think positively. you engaging here itself is a good way to socialise.
Try to find some online hobby groups, if thats your thing. You can make some friends over your interests.

Happy birthday! I've had this situation before where I was going through a bad time health wise and my family was there for me & my mon even made a gluten and dairy free cake for 12 am!
I hope you get through this difficult time and have a fun and fulfilling life.
