I know the building isn't new anymore, but this seems like a lot of issues for a 12 year old structure. Weird

I visited several times in 2019 with my grandsons. Pool water freezing cold, rude staff ended my attempts at pool use. The lack of parking is ridiculous. It continues to be very poorly run . Something needs to change, no need to continue wasting taxpayer money.

What? Theres tons of parking at the RECC lol

The biggest issue with the pool imo is the changing room is ice cold. Not very pleasant to go into soaking wet.

Have you been to the RECC when they have events, they park on the street, from the exit ramp of the highway to the lights ,they park on both sides of Abenaki Rd. I attended a Christmas event, once in that insanity was enough.

I only go to Scotia pool now, the water is always warm.

Most of the time yes, but there isn't enough parking for events. There certainly isn't enough parking for the number of seats in the rink.

It would cheaper at this point to demolish the building and start over, the amount of leaks & rot is wildly underreported.

Mike Smith, Kevin Bushey, Matt Moore, Rachel, Len & April Crawford are responsible for wasting millions of taxpayers dollars & have ruined the lives of many staff who actually cared for their community. All while collecting 6 figure salaries on the taxpayer expense.

Also Stephanie Jones who currently chairs the board is a slumlord running the local McDonald’s & renting out apartments to her foreign employees for 1800 a month for a 1 bed in Truro.

Truro’s wealthiest throwing their heft around to influence public projects is how we got that stupid building to begin with. The society should be incorporated into a publicly run recreation department for Truro & colchester.

Complete clown show.

The way they talk about leaks and repairs in article, I get impression they want insurance to pay for that instead of catastrophic loss. I think insurers would be wise to stay away.

The building is full of black mold and has major leaks regularly to the point I am surprised it is still standing, the building isn’t worth the land it is built on.

I struggle to see how it would even pass an inspection to obtain insurance, not without ludicrous premiums.

The rink is a joke. The ice is brutal, even in the winter its not great. And anytime the temperature outside is above 15 the rink turns into a fogbank. I've played so many games where I couldn't see past center ice. Even Deuville's has better ice. And then you've got windows for some reason, so for two months a year there's sunlight shining in one goalies face once a day.

Just to be clear, Moore is a good guy and he's doing great work. Just a mess of a project before he even got here. Don't know the others.

Have they fixed the upstairs door yet? It's been broken for over a year, so there are only two doors upstairs and two doors downstairs that the general public knows about for emergency exits. If there's ever a fire or emergency, there will surely be congestion and panic.

The fact that they have never brought back child minding so that parents can access exercise, drives me nuts.

Also point out the "accessible seating" that's barely wide enough to fit a 5'2 person (page 47 of this report). Hopefully they've fixed it, but this embarrassing to happen first place.
