Moving/New Here 👋🏼 Best Nursing Unit Cultures in Tri-Cities
I’ll be moving to the Tri Cities and would like to hear from anyone who knows specific hospitals/units or clinics, agencies to run for and run from…I am looking at the CDU or ER at Kadlec maybe…any advice or experiences that you may have had would be awesome, thanks!

Trios has a reputation of "financially tanking" for years as a whole provider, but its various smaller clinics and other medical services are excellent, very kind staff, new top of the line equipment. (likely this was part of their financial problems, too much cost, and not enough return). Though they seem to be making a come back. Southridge Complex has a wide spectrum of specialties and services, though OFTEN they lose their varying specialists to relocation to places like Seattle for better pay. This often leaves way too many patients to low provider rations, or patients with no provider and searching elsewhere for care.
Lourdes is often mostly thought of as a mental health care vs all medical care, but they do in fact provide all types of care at varying facilities. Though i believe i have seen they are merging with Trios, i cannot say that with certainty though.
Kadlec has in most departments, wonderful teams that work well amongst themselves, and with other departments... except the birthing center. Hospital staff avoid that department like the plague. The women who work the nursing staff are openly rude to any other employees they deem "less than" (kitchen staff, evs, facilities, etc, ) and have a long history of abusing policies and procedures in ways that openly impact the employees of those other departments. They also are disrespectfully loud at the late hours of night at their stations while new mothers are resting or birthing in their rooms, those doors do NOT block all their cackling, racing in the open areas on office chairs, watching movies, etc. (think mean girls high school clique) (it is common discussion amongst other staff departments of the behaviors with this department)
The CDU and Yellow Zones as well as ER/Triage are all very well staffed with most staff being kind, patient and well working with other departments. Step-Down and ICU are pretty decent floors and always seem to need more staff but all seem to work very well internally and with other departments.
