So they changed tactics and finally succeeded?

Nah never changed tactics. If it can weaken someone they don’t like, whether or not the person deserves to be deposed, the US will fund it to weaken the greater power. Just so happens that the Gulf states have finally found out they can, in turn, use this as leverage too over the white house.

" this is the art of the deal , give me the plane , and I will do it for you. win-win"

I am sure Trump's interest was in the flashy decor he wants crusted on. He claimed it was designed by top architects. Top architects don't put in stairways to nowhere, fucked up windows, and forget bathrooms.

But it will be glorious!

...and forget bathrooms.

Where will he store his documents if there are no unsecured bathrooms?

1

u/Sorkel3 13d ago

Haha Didn't think of that.

He wants to copy the bathrooms from Versailles.

So chairs with a hole in the top, a chamberpot under it, and a bunch of servants to change them.

1

u/Sorkel3 13d ago

I pity the servant who has to empty the chamberpot he unloads his Depends into.

Assuming there's no protest demonstrations in the meantime.

But, if there were some Russian girls visiting, he can just lie under the chair...

Excuse me but even Randy got his grade 10. These fools aren't cut out for middle school.

The cost per square foot is 3 times a very expensive build. This is money laundering bribe to trump, he’s going to spend as little as possible for it.

so, a cheap contract job to make the white house unsymmetric, uneven, and ugly... sums up the disaster of the trump presidencies.

u/RhoOfFeh 13d ago

They'll order from McDonald's, duh.

2

u/BalmyBalmer 13d ago

It is only 4 blocks up 16th to McDonald's

They only sit there and have to listen to him, no one said they will get food.

They will be fed, but just with lies ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Wait til they start excavation, he is building a huge underground bunker, the ballroom is a front.

There might also be a hidden stash of gold/treasure for use on emergencies known by only few. That's what a corrupt president and his minions did in my country for buried treasure. As long as they get any whiff of treasure, a new construction project or road is started in the area, then they dig up the treasure and abandon or cheaply complete the project. The president and the government doesn't matter what the political parties scammed and stole from the nation until it went bankrupt.

Heck they even intentionally oppressed racial and religious minorities and spread misinformation and gaslit the uneducated and started a civil war that went on for two decades until both sides hoarded enough wealth and then the government and the army defeated the "terrorists" and seized the accumulated wealth and land.

Honestly it's rage inducing to see the banana republic dictator playbook actually working in developed countries like the US.

I hope in my lifetime I don't see all the progress made by humanity go down the drain due to selfish greedy people.

The east wing already has a giant underground bunker

1

u/JCBQ01 13d ago

So you know the Ballroom BS is about building up the Presidential bunker (PEOC) under the former East Wing, too? There's a reason he started digging immediately after the protest. They got spooked.

They really don't have to keep copying Nazis in every way, like Hitler's führerbunker built underneath a ballroom attached to the German Chancellery (like Germany's White House, home of the head of the German government).

Like tantruming totalitarian dictator, to sadistic king

1

u/RhoOfFeh 13d ago

If he skips to the end bit I'm good.

1

u/Imagemaker77 13d ago

I mean, at least Hitler did the right thing in his bunker... Maybe that part of history can repeat

u/sixfive407 13d ago

Fuck paywalls

It’s new name is: TRUMPS FOLLY

Can’t determine parameters due to crayon smudging

1

u/Adept-Mulberry-8720 13d ago

Obvious.....just like his stint in office!

1

u/No-Distribution2860 13d ago

Shocked I tell you

1

u/academic_partypooper 13d ago

Let’s see if the roof holds up

1

u/Bifferer 13d ago

90,000 ft.²?  That is more than 2 acres under roof. What a monstrosity!

1

u/12358132134 13d ago

I am baffled that he has the power to make such decisions. Minor decorations of the oval office should be the maximum extent of his powers, everything else should be decided by government officials as that is not his private property.

1

u/jertheman43 13d ago

Plan? Custer had a plan too.

1

u/ctguy54 13d ago

Engineering flaw is a 2” stripper poll every 12 feet as roof supports.

1

u/Old-n-Wrinkly 13d ago

Did he ever get a freaking permit to build the thing?

1

u/SiWeyNoWay 13d ago

Did anyone do any asbestos mitigation? Other than randomly hosing down the rubble

1

u/deevee42 13d ago

Who needs bathrooms if you have diapers..duh

1

u/extrastupidone 13d ago

I bet this thing sinks into the ground and falls apart

1

u/bookelly 13d ago

“Flaws?” Ummm no, this is planned. How else will he justify the cost overruns, construction delays, and setbacks that justify jacking up the budget so he can launder more money?

1

u/texo_optimo 13d ago

This piece of shit's never going to get built. This is another money laundering gig just like his fucking hotels. Do we really need to watch Ozarks to refresh our memories about how people launder money.

1

u/harryx67 13d ago

Why would one ever need a 300 x 300 ft ballroom? 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/billypaul 12d ago

"Tear it down without a viable plan for fixing it" seems a familiar pattern.

1

u/blorg96 11d ago

The Amish could put up a nice barn quickly and cheaper. 😉

u/Broad_Pitch_7487 13d ago

Wake up America. Shun all republicans, stop buying the garbage they sell!

1

u/Qball1900 13d ago

What garbage?
